The Operations and Supply Chain organization has an opportunity for a talented professional to join our team in a critical Principal Supplier Engineering role within who will be involved in all aspects of planning and executing the production of our wide range of weapon systems, from tactical missiles to strategic defense products. This is a remote opportunity.

You will provide technical knowledge & process capability expertise to improve supplier performance. You will be involved in all phases of product life cycles, beginning with proposal development, new product development, advanced manufacturing initiatives and continuing through production implementation. You will ensure technical data packages are complete and accurate and that the supplier technical performance meets the objectives of quality, cost and schedule. You will drive Raytheon design requirements to improve manufacturing and quality capabilities of suppliers. You will initiate continuous and measurable design and process improvement of supplier hardware for affordability.

This Supplier Engineer will join our Mechanical group. You will support any of the following commodities: Castings, Forgings, Raw Materials, and Hardware Components.  (Experience in one of these commodities is desired, not required.)

What You Will Do:

• Communicate and translate technical data packages to suppliers
• Conduct supplier engagements related to capability, capacity, opportunity and risk
• Perform technical evaluations in support of cost and price analysis
• Manage supplier requests for product and process changes
• Manage product non-conformances
• Drive root cause and corrective action
• Prioritize and execute improvement opportunities
• Communicate the technical health of our suppliers to stakeholders
• Support domestic travel as needed 25% during standard working hours

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.

• Relevant experience is described as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing & quality systems or technical supplier management.

• Experience working directly with suppliers / supply base
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required

• Current DoD clearance
• Experience with Manufacturing Engineering is strongly preferred.
• Self-starter with leadership skills
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Factory process experience
• Ability to perform capability and capacity analyses of suppliers

Employees who are working in remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home) but may be expected to travel to the site location as needed. The successful candidate for this role will be required to reside and work from one of the 50 U.S. states (excluding U.S. territories).

This position requires a security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
