As a Principal Sales Systems Engineer at Nokia, you will be the technical backbone of our Eastern U.S. sales team, collaborating closely with the Sales Manager to craft compelling technology solutions for our customers. You will drive the technical evaluation phase of the sales process, leveraging your expertise in optical and transmission systems engineering to align our Nokia product offerings with client needs. Your role involves delivering engaging product presentations, interpreting customer requirements, and providing post-sales support, all while fostering long-term relationships within the telecom landscape. You will thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment that encourages collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning. Drive the technical sales process as the primary technical resource for the regional Sales Manager.
Develop and deliver compelling technical presentations and demonstrations of Nokia's product portfolio.
Engage with customers to understand their requirements and provide tailored solutions that demonstrate reliability, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
Support marketing initiatives by participating in trade shows, conferences, and industry events.
Respond promptly to RFIs/RFPs, addressing functional and technical requirements effectively.
Foster and maintain long-term relationships with customers and internal sales teams to ensure alignment and satisfaction.
Produce accurate customer orderable quotations and provide after-sales support services to enhance customer experience.
Train and mentor other sales team members while collaborating with Product Line Management to convey customer feedback and feature requirements.
Required Skills for Internal / External Candidates
You have:
- 1-5+ years of experience in systems engineering within telecommunications
- Strong knowledge of long-haul, metro, access, and mobile technologies
- Exceptional presentation skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to articulate technical solutions based on customer requirements
- It would be nice if you also had:
- Experience with Nokia products and solutions
- Familiarity with optical and transmission systems, particularly DWDM
- Skills in telecommunications network planning and cost modeling
Proficiency with MS Office Suite, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
