Principal Project Engineer, Turbomachinery

As a principal Engineer here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will be part of shaping and driving the turbomachinery engineering strategy across our organization. Your leadership will be pivotal in developing and implementing best practices for turbomachinery design and analysis. Providing expert technical guidance to cross-functional teams, you will lead advanced engineering analysis, testing, and modeling to optimize product performance and reliability. 

Your role encompasses the identification and mitigation of potential design risks throughout the product lifecycle. Collaboration with stakeholders to define and establish projects goals and metrics will be a key aspect of your responsibilities, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. You will report directly to our Engineering Manager, and you’ll work out of our Torrance office.

• Lead and manage turbomachinery projects from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, and testing to integrate turbomachinery systems.
• Perform technical assessments and provide solutions for complex engineering challenges in turbomachinery systems.
• Facilitate design reviews, risk assessments, and ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers to foster technical development within the team.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met and expectations are exceeded.
   

YOU MUST HAVE

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering
• Minimum 10 years of experience in turbomachinery design and analysis
• Strong understanding of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and materials applicable to turbomachinery.
• Proficiency in relevant software tools for design and analysis, such as ANSYS or MATLab.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and project management skills.

The annual base salary range for this position in California is $180,000- $225,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
