We are seeking a highly capable and hands-on Principal Program Manager with deep experience managing complex IT programs within a Microsoft-centric infrastructure. This role will drive the planning, execution, and delivery of critical infrastructure and identity programs, including initiatives around Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), and Microsoft 365. The ideal candidate is technically fluent, experienced in cross-functional program delivery, and comfortable working closely with infrastructure architects and security teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of high-impact IT programs involving Microsoft infrastructure and enterprise identity platforms.
  • Partner with the Microsoft Infrastructure Architect and cross-functional teams to define program scope, milestones, deliverables, and resource plans.
  • Oversee large-scale migrations and modernization efforts, including Active Directory consolidation, Exchange Online implementation, and Entra ID optimization.
  • Coordinate and manage multiple concurrent workstreams across engineering, security, cloud, and business units, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals.
  • Build and refine program governance structures, workflows, and operating rhythms that enable efficient execution and accountability.
  • Track program performance and business impact, proactively identifying risks, managing dependencies, and driving issue resolution.
  • Communicate program status, strategy, and risks clearly and effectively to technical teams and executive stakeholders.
  • Facilitate collaboration between IT, security, and business functions to ensure alignment on architecture, compliance, and operational readiness.
  • Champion a continuous improvement mindset, identifying opportunities to streamline delivery and scale organizational capabilities.
  • Serve as a key driver in building the foundational infrastructure and operational muscle to support enterprise growth and transformation.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience managing large-scale IT programs, including at least 3 years focused on Microsoft infrastructure, identity, or cloud-based transformations.
  • The ideal candidate will have a blend of technical expertise, organizational leadership, and technical program management skills, along with a strong track record of delivering complex, cross-functional programs with measurable business impact.
  • Deep familiarity with Microsoft technologies, including Active Directory, Exchange (on-prem and Online), Entra ID/Azure AD, Microsoft 365, and Intune.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL frameworks, cybersecurity best practices, and enterprise change management processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multiple concurrent workstreams across hybrid cloud/on-prem environments.
  • Experience working closely with C-level executives and presenting strategic updates to leadership teams.
  • Proven success in fast-paced environments requiring influence without authority and decision-making amid ambiguity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to partner across engineering, security, product, and business units.
  • Proficiency in project and program management tools such as Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
  • A strategic thinker who can also operate tactically, building scalable processes and frameworks that support enterprise growth and transformation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in an IT Manager or Systems Engineering role earlier in career.
  • Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator Associate, MS365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert).
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and third-party consultants.
  • PowerShell or scripting knowledge to aid in program understanding and automation alignment.
