Content Platforms & Operations is responsible for the development and ongoing advancement of the technical and operational functions driving the worldwide distribution and monetization of Disney’s linear networks and theatrical content. Job Summary:

The Content Platforms & Operations Asset and Media Services Team is seeking a Principal Product Manager to drive the evolution of products and operational capabilities that power the acquisition, inventory management, transformation, and distribution of The Walt Disney Company’s world-class content through the internal media supply chain.

This role is ideal for a product leader who thrives at the intersection of product strategy, platform operations, and execution. You will own and influence a portfolio of interconnected capabilities that span multiple systems, teams, and business functions, ensuring that operational needs, product investments, and long-term platform strategies remain aligned. Rather than focusing on a single product area, you will partner across the Asset and Media Services ecosystem to identify opportunities, define priorities, and deliver solutions that improve operational efficiency, scalability, reliability, and business outcomes.

As a strategic bridge between business stakeholders, operations teams, engineering, and design, you will translate complex operational challenges into product investments and roadmap priorities. You will lead product initiatives from discovery through delivery, coordinating across multiple product teams, technical dependencies, and implementation milestones to ensure successful execution and adoption.

Success in this role requires the ability to navigate ambiguity, balance competing priorities, and drive alignment across a broad stakeholder landscape. The ideal candidate brings strong product judgment, operational expertise, systems thinking, and a proven ability to deliver outcomes in complex, highly dependent environments. You will continuously evaluate evolving business needs, industry trends, and emerging technologies to shape the future of Disney's content supply chain while ensuring the operational excellence required to support content distribution at global scale.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:

  • Define and execute product strategies, roadmaps, and priorities that support the evolution of Disney’s content supply chain while delivering measurable business and operational value.
  • Partner closely with business, operations, engineering, architecture, and design teams to identify opportunities, solve complex problems, and deliver scalable product capabilities across Asset and Media Services capabilities and workflows.
  • Lead product initiatives from discovery through delivery, coordinating across multiple teams, stakeholder groups, and technical dependencies to drive successful outcomes.
  • Drive product strategy and operational readiness for emerging content workflows, new business capabilities, and evolving technologies, ensuring successful adoption and integration within the broader media supply chain.
  • Translate business and operational needs into clear product requirements, investment priorities, and actionable roadmaps that balance customer needs, business objectives, and technical feasibility.
  • Drive stakeholder alignment and influence strategic decision-making across a portfolio of products, operational workflows, and platform capabilities.
  • Establish product goals, success metrics, and operational KPIs, using data and user insights to measure outcomes and inform future investment decisions.
  • Champion product management best practices, including product discovery, roadmap planning, backlog prioritization, experimentation, and iterative delivery.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, industry trends, and evolving business needs to identify opportunities for innovation, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop business cases and cost-benefit analyses to support product investments, strategic initiatives, and operational transformation efforts.
  • Mentor and support the growth of team members while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.

Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of product management experience, preferably within media, technology, platform, operations, or digital supply chain environments.
  • Proven track record of defining strategy, building roadmaps, and delivering complex products or platforms that create measurable business and operational value.
  • Experience leading product strategy and execution across a portfolio of interconnected products, operational workflows, and platform capabilities, balancing short-term delivery needs with long-term strategic objectives.
  • Strong product acumen with experience leading initiatives that span multiple systems, teams, stakeholders, and technical dependencies.
  • Deep understanding of platform products, operational workflows, and the application of technology to solve complex business challenges at scale.
  • Demonstrated success influencing cross-functional teams across engineering, design, operations, architecture, and business organizations without direct authority.
  • Expertise in product discovery, customer and stakeholder research, problem definition, and translating insights into actionable product strategies and roadmaps.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, including business case development, cost-benefit analysis, prioritization, and data-driven decision making.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to align stakeholders and communicate product vision, priorities, risks, and outcomes to audiences ranging from technical teams to senior executives.
  • Experience operating in fast-paced environments, balancing competing priorities, navigating ambiguity, and adapting to evolving business and operational needs.
  • Experience mentoring, coaching, or leading Product Managers and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of modern product development methodologies and frameworks, including Agile and iterative delivery practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with media operations, content supply chains, content distribution, or digital asset management platforms.
  • Understanding of media production, post-production, content transformation, fulfillment, and distribution workflows.
  • Experience managing products that support emerging content experiences, operational transformation initiatives, or next-generation media technologies.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools, automation, or machine learning capabilities within product development or operational workflows.
  • Passion for storytelling, media innovation, and the evolving ways audiences engage with content.
  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
