Job Description:

We’re looking for an experienced product manager to lead the development of both consumer-facing and internal tools. You’ll help shape and evolve our proprietary platform, LowerOS—a powerful system that streamlines the mortgage process. LowerOS enables customers to apply for a loan, helps our sales team present tailored financing options, and supports our operations team from approval through closing and beyond. It simplifies a complex, high-stakes process, improving service, reducing costs, and making a real impact on the lives of our customers and employees.

This is an individual contributor role reporting to the EVP of Program and Product Management. You’ll collaborate closely with engineers, designers, and program managers, as well as key stakeholders across sales, operations, and executive leadership. It’s a high-visibility, high-impact opportunity within a fast-growing organization!

What you’ll do:

  • Develop deep expertise in the mortgage process to craft high-quality feature specifications for LowerOS and related products, including critical integrations
  • Lead effective product discovery efforts, leveraging data analysis and insights from both customer and internal user research
  • Define clear goals and success metrics for individual features and broader strategic initiatives
  • Continuously shape and prioritize the product roadmap and backlog to maximize business impact
  • Drive informed decision-making around scope, priorities, and trade-offs; remove blockers to ensure steady progress
  • Build strong partnerships across HQ teams, sales and operations leadership, and executive stakeholders
  • Collaborate with program management, internal communications, and training teams to ensure successful feature launches and continuous iteration based on feedback
  • Contribute to the evolution of product management practices, tools, and culture within the organization

Who you are:

  • 8+ years of product management experience, with a track record of delivering impactful products for both external customers and internal users
  • Proven success leading cross-functional teams in a technology-driven organization
  • Strong customer orientation; able to deeply understand and advocate for user needs throughout the product lifecycle
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills; able to define complex problems, synthesize data, and develop actionable solutions
  • Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving abilities; able to navigate ambiguity and drive clarity across teams
  • Outstanding communication skills—both written and verbal—with the ability to influence diverse stakeholders, write clear specs, and present compelling product narratives

Location:

With locations in Columbus, OH and Austin, TX we’d love to find someone who is able to work in-person on a hybrid basis. We are open to considering fully remote for highly experienced candidates, with willingness to travel periodically.

Why you’ll love working at Lower:

  • You’ll be surrounded by talented, dedicated people who believe in the company’s mission.

  • You’ll be able to shape the future of Lower’s user experience.

  • You’ll join a locally and nationally recognized best place to work that values promotion from within.

  • There is opportunity for professional growth and development.

Plus:

  • Competitive compensation plan

  • Extended benefit offerings including: Medical/dental/vision

  • Paid holidays

  • Paid time off

  • Parental leave

  • Life insurance

  • Short- and long-term disability

  • 401K with company match

  • Discount on home mortgage refinances or purchase

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
