Role Overview:

We are looking for a visionary Principal Product Manager to lead the development of advanced tools for RLHF and SFT labeling. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, machine learning engineers, engineering leaders, program managers, sales leaders, and finance, to define and execute the product strategy for labeling tools that optimize human feedback and supervised training data collection.  In addition, you will be responsible for performance and project management tools used to manage these workers and projects.

You will play a pivotal role in shaping the products that allow our talent to train LLMs how to reason, ensuring that they are aligned with real-world needs and capable of continuous improvement through both automated and human-driven feedback loops.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and drive the product strategy and roadmap for RLHF and SFT labeling tools, aligned with the broader AI strategy at Turing.
  • Collaborate with delivery, design, engineering, HR, sales and data teams to develop and refine labeling processes, ensuring scalability and high-quality data generation.
  • Proactively anticipate product needs with LLM account managers and customers while improving UX via hands-on user research.
  • Partner with engineering to prioritize features, manage trade-offs, and deliver high-impact products on time.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance automation in labeling processes while balancing human feedback for model fine-tuning.
  • Predict industry trends in AI training, including the latest advancements in RLHF and SFT, to ensure Turing remains at the cutting edge of machine learning technologies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across teams to ensure product alignment with business goals, customer needs, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor product performance and iterate based on key metrics and user feedback to continually improve labeling tools.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of product management experience, with at least 3 years in AI/ML or data labeling-related products.
  • Proven track record of managing end-to-end product lifecycle, from ideation through launch and iteration.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence technical and non-technical teams alike.
  • Data-driven mindset with a passion for creating impactful products.
  • Experience working in an agile environment with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in scaling AI or ML products at a tech-first company.
  • Familiarity with natural language processing models, transformers, or other advanced AI frameworks.
  • Experience in building products that integrate human feedback loops, including tools that support labelers or trainers in supervised learning environments.
  • Strong understanding of Reinforcement Learning, Supervised Fine-Tuning, and their applications in machine learning models.
  • Experience working in distributed or remote teams.
  • Ability to work 12 hours / day
Advantages of joining Turing:
  • Amazing work culture (Super collaborative & supportive work environment; 5 days a week)
  • Awesome colleagues (Surround yourself with top talent from Meta, Google, LinkedIn etc. as well as people with deep startup experience)
  • Competitive compensation
  • Flexible working hours
  • Full-time remote opportunity

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
