The Principal Product Manager will develop AI-driven product strategies and workflows, manage product roadmaps, and collaborate across teams to enhance data-driven solutions in Archive and eDiscovery.

We are redefining the Smarsh Communication Intelligence Platform with AI-led innovation and automated workflows. We are seeking a Principal Product Manager to deliver productivity and operational efficiency for customer workflows and to surface valuable Analytics/Insights leveraging our Data platform and AI/GenAI technologies. This role is critical to envisioning the next generation use cases and workflows where AI assistants, Agents and humans work together to accelerate identifying business impacting insights, investigating and acting on those insights autonomously with initial focus on Archive and eDiscovery use cases. The Principal PM will report to the VP of Product and will work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing to establish Smarsh as a market leader in AI-led innovation.
How will you contribute?
- Define a compelling strategy for driving AI augmented workflows and use cases in Archive and Discovery products that extend the data platform and create new opportunities for growth and solving pressing business problems for our customers.
- Develop market research, PRDs with business cases, manage product roadmap and prioritize with our engineering teams.
- Drive Monetization: Develop and oversee monetization strategies for the new capabilities introduced, ensuring AI safeguards and governance, competitive differentiation to foster innovation while protecting COGS.
- Work closely with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing teams to develop joint go-to-market strategies that drive enablement, adoption, and long-term success.
- Work closely with other Product Managers to convert product strategy to detailed requirements and prototypes that can be translated into our development processes.
What will you bring?
- 8+ years of experience in product management with focus on data-driven products, workflow automations, Archive & eDiscovery use cases and monetizing them.
- Experience building conversational tools and chatbots
- Technical fluency in AI, GenAI, Agentic AI and an understanding of the constraints
- Customer & partner-focused mindset, ensuring that all roadmap initiatives align with customer needs and drive measurable impact.
- Ability to collaborate across R&D, Legal, Finance, Marketing and Sales.
- Experience with software engineering and product management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Miro, Figma.
- A growth mindset and a commitment to quality.
- Ability to influence and work across different teams in different time zones.
- This role is based on US – remote or hybrid.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of communications surveillance/compliance in a Financial Services context. This could have been gained within a FinTech, Consultancy, Compliance Technology vendor or a Financial Institution.
- Exposure to AWS, security, metering, and billing based on consumption.
