* Job Summary:
* CDW is seeking a Principal Microsoft Instructor to deliver high-quality training programs, oversee quality assurance, and conduct both in-person and virtual instructor-led training in multiple technical areas. This role will enhance the quality and relevance of our training programs, improve customer satisfaction, and contribute to developing a skilled workforce capable of addressing current and future cyber security challenges. The ideal candidate will have a master's degree or equivalent work experience, over ten years in a cyber security or IT role, and ten years of experience as an instructor or professor, with advanced subject matter expertise in two or more technical areas.
* What you will do:
* Is qualified to deliver 5 or more unique courses in at least 2 technical categories within their specialty area.
* Oversees quality assurance in 1 or more areas of technical instruction.
* Conducts in person and virtual instructor-led training in three or more technical topic areas.
* Accurately identifies skill level of participants and aligns delivery of course material to match individual students' needs.
* Manages technical course development including course manuals, labs, scenarios, tests, and final exams in 3 or more areas of expertise.
* Demonstrates consistent classroom and student management to ensure a positive, successful learning environment.
* Leads research in an area of technology relevant.
* Leverages deep technical expertise and solid understanding of industry to recommend current and future areas of instruction aligned to market needs.
* Tailors complex deliveries to individual market sector's concerns, needs, and training aligned outcomes.
* Applies knowledge and experience to bring relevant, real-world examples to each course delivery.
* Engages with larger ITS team to understand GTM themes and applies these to shape curriculum.
* Advises senior leadership of emerging technical and industry trends, aligning learning portfolio to enable just-in-time skills adoption.
* Ensures instructors within area of specialty are meeting delivery and CSAT performance goals and provides appropriate coaching to remediate challenges.
* Mentors and provides technical oversight to instructors.
* Owns the development and update lifecycles for all courses in their area of expertise.
* Manages several tasks, projects and client deliverables effectively, efficiently and on time, with accuracy to details and tasks.
* Identifies problems and proactively resolves the problems in a way that avoids adverse impact of issues.
* Owns outcome until issues are completely resolved, communicates with team regarding incidents, actions, and resolution.
* Employs creative solutions to resolve delivery impacting issues.
* Adheres to all delivery policies as outlined in the Instructor Handbook, contributes to new policies and procedures in same to remediate any reoccurring instructor issues.
* Follows all client policies and procedures while onsite.
* Researches future direction of technology relevant to cyber security and incorporates new topics in the development and delivery of cyber content.
* Manages one or more technical areas within the training portfolio.
* Ensures instructors within area of specialty are meeting delivery and CSAT performance goals and provides appropriate coaching to remediate challenges.
* Mentors and provides technical oversight to instructors.
* Participates in team interviews to ensure the best candidates are hired.
* Serves as Subject Matter Expert answering technical content and learning objective questions from prospective clients during the sales process.
* Manages the new instructor training program.
* Delivers clear, convincing, and well-organized presentations; projects credibility and poise even in highly visible, adversarial situations.
* Relates to variety of diverse styles of people; open to differences; treats differences respectfully; ability to find common ground.
* Demonstrates exceptional, effective classroom communication skills
* Monitors learner progress during instruction, administer tests, evaluate attainment of end-of-course objectives.
* Selects and modifies presentation strategies to ensure learner understanding, manage time available for course, facilitates opportunities for learner success, and resolver learner behavior problems.
* Identifies and adapts delivery style and methodology to accommodate all levels of learner.
* Pursues advanced training, attends technical conferences and demonstrates technical development to keep their skills and subject matter expertise up to date.
* Conducts or Leads individual and group research in their area of expertise for publication or presentation.
* Researches future direction of relevant technology and pursues new topics or courses relevant to current and future customers.
* May serve in or lead one or more industry groups or associations.
* What we expect of you:
* Microsoft Certified Trainer
* Current Microsoft Certifications in 2 or more specialty areas
* Qualified to teach 5 or more Microsoft courses in one of more of these areas: Security, M365, Copilot, or Azure.
* Master's Degree, 7 or more years in a cyber security or IT role, 7 or more years as an instructor or professor with advanced subject matter expertise in two or more technical areas,
* OR
* 13 years or more in a cyber security or IT role, to include 7 or more years as an instructor or professor with advanced subject matter expertise in two or more technical areas
* Experience tailoring training delivery to various commercial, military and government audiences.
* Experience developing multi-course/learning path plans of instruction.
* Experience developing and managing training delivery Quality Assurance program components.
* Experience delivering technical training courses 30+ hours in length for 20+ learners.
* Experience managing learning experiences across: LMS, web conferencing platforms, virtual labs (including Vsphere, VMWare, or other virtualization platform), and CRM.
* Experience managing classes of learners with varied technical backgrounds.
* Experience setting and managing client delivery expectations across one or more program areas of a training portfolio.
* Experience managing a major partner/client/contract program.
