* Job Summary
* The Principal GCP Architect ensures solutions are implemented as designed to the customer's satisfaction and approval. Make innovative and ingenious contributions to new solution/product design and implementation based on an understanding of GCP and applicable technologies, and how it can be applied to solution/product design, considerations of system-wide impact, hardware-software tradeoffs and business issues for clients. This position will provide oversight and project guidance and will also take a lead technical role in enhancing and implementing new cutting-edge Digital Velocity solution offerings.
* What you'll do:
* Collaborate with the technical architect on training plans and approaches to best equip staff for successful implementations.
* Develop standards, best practices and training for team members along with technical architect and technical lead in their area of expertise.
* Define project strategies or technical options to balance customer project goals and financial constraints.
* Provide leadership and expert advice/counsel on technical subject matters and solution architecture design to customers and internal stakeholders.
* Lead professional services delivery for global customers on GCP, mentoring engineers and providing technical leadership with a focus on agentic AI and Google Agentspace
* Responsible for reviewing and approving Statements of Work (SOWs) and Level of Effort (LOE) estimations
* Escalate and communicate alternatives with associated risks with executives and stakeholders.
* Ensure procedures are being followed and assists in resolving complex problems which require professional level input.
* Regularly interface with customer's technical and business executive level and project leadership through sales presentations and/or client project solutions in communicating complex ideas, anticipating potential objections and leading discussions to align expectations.
* The Principal GCP Architect will also develop standardized templates, tools, and services calculations to enhance overall technology leadership and quality.
* What we expect of you:
* Bachelor's Degree and 10+ years of IT Infrastructure experience, including at least 3 years in large enterprise consulting. Or, 14+ years of IT Infrastructure experience, including at least 3 years in large enterprise consulting
* The candidate should demonstrate leadership and provide expert advice on GCP technical matters and architecture design. They should be a subject matter expert, staying updated with the latest technology trends, and have the ability to develop IT services offerings.
* Practical experience with automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies like Terraform or Ansible, as well as high proficiency in the design and implementation of solutions on at least one major public cloud platform.
* Proven ability to maintain client relationships as a trusted advisor and mentor engineers for project design and coordination.
* Excellent communication skills are required, with experience in making technology recommendations.
* History of building constructive relationships at all organizational levels and the ability to research complex technology solutions and present them to clients.
* Should remain calm and productive in situations of change, ambiguity, and risk.
* Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment is essential. The candidate should anticipate future trends and create strategies that add value.
* Willingness to travel to other CDW locations or client sites.
* Additional technology areas and experience: Python, cloud-specific automation tooling, scripting languages, data experience, networking experience, a plus.
