Job DescriptionThe Principal FP&A Analyst role is a senior individual contributor who combines extensive financial and modelling expertise with deep business partnership to drive strategic financial outcomes. You will be expected to maintain a deep understanding of financial plans, results, and performance indicators to help accelerate profitable growth. This role exists primarily to provide high-impact financial reporting, insights and recommendations that directly influence strategic decision-making within the organisation especially to the COO.
P&L Management:
- Developing and maintaining profit and loss statements for key business areas, tracking costs and revenue, and providing clear financial visibility into operational performance, margin trends, and cost efficiency.
Financial Compliance:
- Ensuring adherence to financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, maintaining accurate records, and supporting audits.
Forecasting & Budgeting:
- Building financial models, conducting scenario analyses, collaborating with functional teams to establish financial targets, monitoring performance, and providing data-driven insights.
Performance Analysis:
- Evaluating initiatives, investments, or new proposals by analysing financial impact and return on investment, and delivering recurring performance reports highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities.
Analytics & Reporting:
- Designing and maintaining analytic frameworks and dashboards for business insights, and conducting ad hoc financial analysis for strategic and operational needs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Building strong working relationships across functions like operations, marketing, strategy, or technology to ensure alignment, transparency, and shared ownership of financial outcomes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field is required.
- Graduate Program (MBA, MIB or Masters): An MBA, CFA, and/or CPA is preferred but not required.
- A minimum of 5+ years of relevant work experience in financial analysis, planning, and/or business partnering.
- Experience preferable in tech, investment banking, or significant experience partnering directly with functional leadership, including C-level executives.
Computer skills:
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets, data warehouse tools, and other financial analysis platforms.
Proficiency in financial software systems such as Adaptive Planning, Workday, Salesforce, and NetSuite.
Background in hosting analytics, with the ability to analyze cost drivers, usage patterns, and margin optimization strategies across cloud infrastructure is a plus.
Other knowledge / skills:
Ability to partner effectively with senior Leadership, in a professional and collaborative manner.
Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting practices, and financial modelling techniques, specifically as they apply to revenue recognition, sales performance, and commission structures.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly present complex financial and operational information to non-financial stakeholders and the board.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify and solve complex financial and sales operational problems.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements is beneficial.
Compensation Package:
Base Pay range: $120,000 - $135,000 Annually (12 Months)
Position eligible for Annual Company Bonus Plan
The range applies to the US only. If the final candidate is in another country, the local currency and range would be based on competitive ranges in those countries in alignment with the job grade range.
Placement within our pay range will vary based on knowledge, skills, experience, and market location variations as well as internal peer equity
