DIRECTV is seeking a Principal Enterprise Solution Architect technical expert to define comprehensive technical solutions and ensure alignment with strategic business objectives. The Architect provides technical leadership in evolving the architectural capabilities of enterprise-wide solutions, including advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI). This role collaborates closely with Application Architects, Data Architects, and System Engineers to ensure alignment of individual programs and product strategies with overarching business and technical goals. As a Principal Enterprise Solution Architect, you will facilitate critical architectural decisions and guide development teams toward scalable, reusable, innovative, and forward-looking solutions.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Drive technical thought leadership by identifying and evaluating industry trends, including emerging technologies like AI, machine learning, and Generative AI, to define strategic solutions that scale effectively across our customer portfolio.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive architecture roadmaps, clearly articulating the current state, intermediate milestones, and target-state architectures to guide incremental implementation.
  • Partner closely with business stakeholders to assist in business-case development, clearly defining technology value propositions and quantifying business benefits of architectural initiatives.
  • Define and document comprehensive End-to-End Integrated Architectures, specifying solution components, interactions, interfaces, and interdependencies across systems.
  • Simplify complex technical concepts, ensuring clear communication among key stakeholders, including technical teams and business decision-makers.
  • Demonstrate impactful communication skills, bridging perspectives, synthesizing viewpoints, and effectively driving consensus around technology direction and investments.
  • Lead technical discovery workshops, articulating industry challenges, aligning solutions with DIRECTV’s strategic goals, and facilitating stakeholder alignment.
  • Facilitate the reuse of architectural designs by contributing durable solution architectures, reference models, best practices, and methodologies adaptable to changing industry landscapes and technological advancements.
  • Ensure robust architectural flexibility through abstraction, generalization, and modular designs to support future business and technology shifts.
  • Influence and advocate for standard modeling practices, design principles, and coding standards across the organization.

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Science, Electrical Engineering, or Math; or equivalent experience.
  • 5 – 7 years required, 8+ years desired in Enterprise and Solution Architecture roles.
  • Deep technical knowledge and subject matter expert in Digital and Contact Center Applications, Microservices Architecture, Data Warehousing, Analytics, and AI/ML technologies.
  • Experience in the Media and Telecom industry preferred.
  • Experience developing or designing PCI-compliant application architecture preferred.
  • Experience with Salesforce, One Trust, MuleSoft, Genesys and Gen AI solutions preferred.

This Principal Enterprise Solution Architect position offers an excellent opportunity for an individual with expert-level technical leadership to provide strategic insights, guidance, and direction in enterprise and solution architecture, including the integration of AI-driven solutions at DIRECTV.

DIRECTV's compensation structure is designed to be market-competitive and fully supports efforts to attract and retain employees. It is the company's policy to offer pay that is competitive with other employers in the local market. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.

The Base Salary range displayed below reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for each of DIRECTV's 4 (four) US Labor Market Zones. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

DIRECTV WAGE ZONES: $127,965 - $232,415

Low (N1): $127,965 - $191,995

Mid (N2): $134,700 - $202,100

High (N3): $148,170 - $222,310

Top (N4): $154,905 - $232,415
