About The Role:

CrowdStrike is seeking a Principal Engineer to provide technical leadership for our Endpoint Protection Product (EPP) team, with primary focus on Windows architecture and implementation. As a key technical leader in our organization, you will drive architectural decisions, technical excellence, and innovation for Falcon Prevent, our cutting-edge cybersecurity product. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that our Windows sensor maintains its position as the industry's most advanced and reliable endpoint security solution, while contributing to cross-platform initiatives.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance for the Windows sensor team, driving technical strategy, building technology roadmaps, mentoring engineers, and ensuring successful project delivery

  • Define and drive technical excellence through architecture reviews, design patterns, and engineering best practices

  • Lead efforts in performance optimization, scalability improvements, and technical debt reduction

  • Troubleshoot complex technical challenges and champion development projects that enhance product reliability and development velocity

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive technical innovation and architectural improvements

  • Stay current with industry trends and security threats, particularly in the Windows ecosystem

What You'll Need:

  • BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience

  • Extensive software development experience, with at least 6 years focused on systems programming

  • Deep expertise in Windows OS internals, kernel development, and security architecture

  • Advanced knowledge of C/C++ programming and modern C++ practices

  • Strong understanding of software architecture patterns and best practices for resilient software development, including client/data/cloud architecture

  • Experience with real-time security monitoring and threat detection systems

  • Excellent technical leadership skills, with demonstrated ability to mentor, influence and guide engineering teams

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts at all levels

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with Linux kernel development or eBPF

  • Knowledge of macOS internals and security architecture

  • Experience with cross-platform development and architecture

  • Background in malware analysis or threat research

  • Contributions to open-source projects or security research publications

  • Experience working with remote teams while ensuring technical excellence
