The Datacenter Software and Solutions Engineering team within MTC at Intel has an opportunity available for a Principal Engineer to join our team and make significant impact on the bleeding edge Intel Hardware to be used by Microsoft Azure. You will work closely with Intel technology leaders and external partners to help optimize and develop innovative solutions to solve challenges in a rapidly moving business and technology environment. Responsibilities will Include:
- Engage with key external partner teams and Intel teams to understand the use case, new technologies and opportunities for Intel.
- Use advanced tools to benchmark workloads at scale and analyze performance to identify areas for optimization
- Create differentiated solutions to improve performance by leveraging Intel architecture features, ensuring scalability and efficiency
- Expertise utilizing and analyzing one or more cloud workloads or workload categories, such as data services, web, AI, media, or other
- Resolve complex issues through innovative solutions and be a part in shaping future IA technologies by influencing key technical and business stakeholders.
- Provide strategic leadership in new areas of investment for the team and build a multi-year roadmap.
- Be a change agent and improve technical processes within the team for more efficient execution.

Deep Technical subject matter expertise in one or more of the following areas is critical:
- Data Center and Cloud Management systems
- Planet scale cloud application architecture
- Expert in C/C++ programming and code optimization
- Familiarity with Intel assembly language and intrinsic programming
Minimum Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in following:
- Software development and/or Software architecture definition
- Deep knowledge and experience in computer architecture and Intel Architecture
- Proven track record of architecting / developing first-time-right platforms to meet aggressive timeline and development targets.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with performance tools and methodologies.
- Knowledge of cloud storage and databases.
- Proficient with Microsoft development tools and environments.
- Multithreaded programming patterns and libraries knowledge.
- Solid expertise in Server Operating Systems and Concepts.
- Good verbal, written and presentation skills to influence management and technical stakeholders across Intel and Intel partners.schoolwork/classes/research.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US:
$228,130.00-$322,070.00Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience.
