Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Multi-Cloud Architect to join our innovative team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of multiple cloud platforms and possess the ability to design, implement, and manage complex cloud environments. As a Multi-Cloud Architect, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our cloud infrastructure is scalable, secure, and optimized for performance across various cloud providers.
What you will do:
  • Design and implement multi-cloud solutions that leverage the strengths of different cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of applications across multiple clouds.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
  • Monitor and optimize cloud performance, reliability, and security.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for security and data protection.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies.

What you will have:
  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Requirements Analysis: Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.
  • Target Architecture: Knowledge of target architecture; ability to develop the IT blueprint and roadmap while aligning the architecture and processes with business strategies and objectives.
  • IT Architecture: Knowledge of Information Technology (IT) architecture; ability to design and improve organizational IT structures, supporting business operations.

Consideration for top candidates:
  • Proven experience as a Multi-Cloud Architect or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of multiple cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Certifications in cloud platforms or DevOps tools.

Additional Details:
  • This position has the option to be based out of either our Chicago, IL, Peoria, IL, or Irving, TX (Dallas); or Denver, CO offices.

Summary Pay Range:
$147,760.00 - $240,110.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
