Harbinger is a VC and PE-backed industrial startup based in Garden Grove, California. Our first product is hybrid and electric commercial vehicles for deliveries, work trucks, and RVs. Nowadays, our product offering has expanded to include Power Generation, Defense, and Software/AI.
The Capital Markets and Strategy team has two key mandates, the first being supporting the company’s fundraising strategy across equity, debt, and tax credits. The second is key strategic projects, including developing strategic plans and early go-to-market strategies for our less-developed verticals. As a Principal on this team, you will handle projects across both mandates, driving fundraising forward, while also handling one growth vertical and other ad-hoc strategic projects.

You will succeed in this role if you love open-ended problem solving and desire to make an outsized contribution at a quickly-evolving company..
Job Responsibilities:- Manage internal preparedness for public-market opportunities, including maintaining ongoing work plans and relationships with lawyers, bankers, and marketing firms
- Collaborate with senior leadership on investor relations and fundraising initiatives
- Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts key to the business’s operation and fundraising efforts
- Lead market research and go-to-market strategic planning for a nascent company vertical
- Develop cross-functional knowledge bases to bolster internal and external growth plans
- Identify and engage outside partners and potential customers for chosen vertical
- Manage ad-hoc research financially-focused projects as requested by CFO and CEO (examples from the past year include: tariff mitigation strategies, new site selection, and tax credits, among others)
- In-person 4+ days per week in Garden Grove, CA; occasional but not regular work travel (e.g., conferences, investor meetings)
- MBA required; Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or STEM preferred
- Prior experience in investment banking or strategic finance/corporate finance at a startup with direct experience to an IPO strongly preferred; consulting, financial services, or finance/capital markets at a scaling startup also work
- Strong analytical skills with advanced proficiency with slides and spreadsheets required; experience with detailed financial modeling, scenario analysis, and creating strategic plans from these work products desired
- Competent with AI, with ability to automate and augment their own analytical firepower with AI tools and creations
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities both internally and externally
- Proven track record of managing complex, multi-faceted projects with limited oversight
- Organizationally-minded with the ability to juggle multiple unrelated projects
