As a Principal Business Development Leader here at Honeywell, you will play a key role in driving business growth and identifying new opportunities for Honeywell. You will be responsible for conducting market research, analyzing industry trends, and providing strategic insights and recommendations to senior management. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and work closely with key stakeholders to develop and execute business strategies.

In this role, the impact of a Principal Business Development Analyst is comprehensive, encompassing strategic leadership, market analysis, competitive intelligence, market expansion, lead generation, sales strategy, data analysis, strategic partnerships, team leadership, performance measurement, risk management, cost optimization, strategic planning, and fostering an innovation culture. Your role is instrumental in driving business growth, maintaining a strong market position, and achieving organizational success.


Location: Remote. Within easy daily access to locations with concentrations of Science and Technology (S&T) customers, examples include Washington D.C. and Huntsville AL. Travel of up to 50% required across domestic US and could be more dependent on location in proximity to key customers

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct regular engagement with assigned government Science and Technology organizations and stakeholders at appropriate levels. Investigate, recommend, and facilitate the formation and maintenance of strong relationships with strategic customers. 
  • Serve as a primary interface with the government sponsors. Ensure the company has awareness of all relevant funding opportunities. 
  • Coordinate internal resources as necessary to effectively help shape customer requirements and objectives for future funded R&D opportunities. 
  • Work with others in Applied and Advanced Technology’s business development team to identify and implement customer contact plans, prioritize funding opportunities, and ensure that opportunities are collaboratively formulated with customers and stakeholders and managed through all steps of the business development process from initial concept through proposal submission to program win.
  • Contribute to developing key partnerships with other companies, universities, national labs and other organizations critical to success for individual opportunities and for anticipating future interests. 
  • Work with all stakeholders to secure definitive customer decisions for proposals and enhance competitive position. Ensure that the bookings target for the selected customer set is met. 
Qualifications

US PERSONS REQUIREMENT

Must be a US Citizen due to contractual requirements.

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Connecticut, and Hawaii is $158000-198,000.  For Washington and most major metropolitan areas in New York & California, the annual base salary range is $182,000-228000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • 8 or more years of professional engineering/science-related experience with demonstrated competency in advanced engineering leading projects, business pursuits and leading the sales efforts for technology funding for R&D initiatives   
  • 8 years of experience with proven capability to grow and capture advanced technology R&D funding opportunities from Government Science and Technology agencies, or experience of developing externally executed programs within a Government S&T agency. 
  • Due to Government contracts/projects candidates must be capable of obtaining a US security clearance.
