About Paytient:
We’re on a mission to help people better access and afford care.

Every day, millions of people, and their loved ones, need to see a doctor. For most of us, that moment is an uncertain one - we’re unsure of what’s wrong, who to go to, how long it’ll take to be seen, when we’ll feel better, and what it’ll cost.

Paytient partners with thoughtful employers and health plans who understand the impact of that moment and want to ensure that every one of their plan members are easily able to access and afford care. Our clients understand that an improved ability to self-pay for care changes patient behavior and creates value for the health plan.  This founding belief is becoming an emerging standard of care in health plan design and is now, in fact, a mandatory capability in some governmental health plans. Founded in 2018, Paytient is now part of nearly 6,000 employer health plans and providing certainty that people are better able to access and afford care.

We’re looking for passionate, collaborative builders to join our team and help us create a future where everyone can more easily access and afford care.
About The Role

Are you a strategic and hands-on product marketing leader with a passion for building B2B growth engines in complex industries like healthcare or FinTech?

Paytient is seeking a Principal, B2B Product Marketing to lead our product marketing efforts, focusing on defining and scaling our go-to-market strategies. This role is pivotal in translating our innovative capabilities into clear, compelling narratives that drive demand, accelerate sales, and empower our GTM teams.

Reporting to our VP of Growth Marketing, you will be a key player in shaping how we position our solutions and enabling our Sales and Partnerships teams for success.

What You’ll Do: Build the Engine: Product Marketing & Sales Enablement
  • Establish competitive advantage: Own the competitive intelligence function, including customer listening, competitor research and leading win/loss interviews to develop customer insights and VoC that fuels our positioning.
  • Lead and scale product marketing: Own the strategy and execution for positioning, messaging, and sales enablement across both our Branded and Embedded solutions.
  • Craft compelling narratives: Translate complex product capabilities into clear, segment-specific stories and value propositions for our target audiences, including employers, brokers, health systems, and health plans and commercialize them in the market.
  • Drive sales enablement: Develop a world-class, modular sales enablement system. This includes creating and maintaining pitch decks, persona-specific one-pagers, demo scripts, battlecards, and competitive insights to empower our GTM teams.
  • Manage the content roadmap: Prioritize and build content based on immediate sales needs and GTM priorities, focusing on high-impact assets, priority segments, and market-specific materials (e.g., ACA Market).
  • Own pricing and GTM strategy: Collaborate with leadership to evolve pricing models and go-to-market approaches to support new monetization strategies.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Impact
  • Become a strategic partner: Work closely with Sales, Partnerships, and Product teams to ensure a unified go-to-market strategy and a consistent, powerful brand narrative across all touchpoints.
  • Establish a competitive POV: Continuously audit the competitive landscape to identify new narratives and positioning opportunities that establish Paytient as a category leader.
  • Build for scale: Create a framework and repository for sales enablement materials that can be easily accessed, updated, and iterated upon as the business grows.
What You’ll Bring:
  • 7-10+ years of progressive experience in B2B product marketing, ideally in a high-growth environment.
  • Proven success in building and scaling a product marketing function from the ground up, with a track record of driving pipeline and revenue.
  • Experience in a complex industry such as healthcare, FinTech, SaaS, or benefits.
  • Experience in owning competitive intelligence, conducting competitor research, and leading win/loss interviews to develop customer insights and voice-of-customer (VoC) that fuels our positioning.
  • A deep understanding of the full sales cycle and the specific content and insights required to accelerate it.
  • Exceptional storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information into simple, powerful messages.
  • A collaborative and proactive mindset, with a proven ability to work cross-functionally with sales, product, and leadership.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
