Job Description

This position is hybrid and will be required to be in office two times per month for collaboration working sessions.

Job Summary

Responsible for leading the Platform Observability, AIOps and Automation include design and implementation of a modern observability and intelligent operations platform. This role will define and maintain the reference architecture for observability and AIOps, ensuring real-time visibility, predictive analytics, and autonomous remediation capabilities. Will architect and integrate a unified observability stack with software to standardize metrics and streamline monitoring across the enterprise. This role requires driving the delivery of monitoring integrations, developing dashboards that provide actionable insights, and leading the adoption of AIOps and automation strategies to enable proactive platform management and autonomous operations.

Job Duties

  • Define and execute a roadmap for advancing IT operations from traditional models to intelligent, self-healing systems utilizing observability, automation, and AI.
  • Design, implement, and evolve a scalable observability platform, integrating advanced telemetry, dashboards, automation workflows, and real-time analytics.
  • Drive continuous improvement in system reliability, performance, and incident response by embedding observability across all IT layers and business services.
  • Inspire and mentor a diverse team of engineers, operations, and support teams to innovate and adopt best practices in observability and autonomous operations ensuring measurable improvements in operational efficiency and reliability.
  • Partner closely with business leaders, product teams, and enterprise architects to align observability solutions to strategic objectives and key business outcomes.
  • Lead transformation initiatives, workshops, publish technical standards by evangelizing observability and automation practices, and drive adoption across organizational boundaries.
  • Ensure observability and monitoring solutions meet security, privacy, and regulatory requirements, and proactively mitigate operational risks.
  • Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with observability and automation technology providers by implementing architectural oversight onshore and offshore.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.

  • 10-12 years of experience in IT operations, with at least 5 years in leadership or architecture role within observability or reliability engineering.

  • Demonstrated success architecting and scaling observability and monitoring platforms in complex, distributed enterprise environments.

  • Expertise in AI-driven automation, telemetry, and integrating open-source and commercial observability tools (e.g., Splunk, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic, Elastic).

  • Proven experience leading cross-functional, teams and delivering transformational change in operations or technology organizations.

  • Strong knowledge of cloud-native architectures, DevOps practices, and modern incident management.

  • Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills at all levels.

  • Experience developing and implementing best practices for monitoring, alerting, and actionable intelligence across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

  • Strategic thinking and vision-setting for autonomous operations and observability maturity.

  • Deep technical acumen in observability, monitoring, AIOps, and automation technologies. Integrated a unified observability stack using LogicMonitor, Dynatrace, Azure Monitor, Ops Manager, ManageEngine, or PagerDuty to enhance system performance monitoring, incident response, and operational visibility.

  • Exceptional leadership abilities and a track record of building high-performing, innovative teams.

  • Change leadership: demonstrated ability to drive cultural and technological transformation.

  • Analytical mindset with a passion for leveraging data to drive operational outcomes.

  • Strong project management capabilities and delivery focus.

  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying at the forefront of emerging technology trends.

  • Experience in highly regulated industries (e.g., finance, healthcare) with rigorous compliance requirements preferred.

  • Certifications in Dynatrace, LogicMonitor, Azure, ServiceNow (CIS-ITOM, CSA), or similar ITSM, observability toolsets and/or automation technologies (e.g., AWS/GCP/Azure, Kubernetes, ITIL, SRE) preferred.

  • Experience with OpenTelemetry, FluentD, Prometheus, or similar technologies preferred.

  • Familiarity with automation frameworks such as Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, or Python scripting for orchestration preferred.
