Step into the role of a Principal Architect at JPMorganChase and become a driving force behind the development and adoption of cutting-edge, cloud-based technologies.
As a Principal Architect at JPMorganChase within the Digital Channels and Connectivity for Payments Technology you provide expertise to enhance and develop architecture based on modern cloud-based technologies, as well as support the adoption of strategic global solutions. Leverage your advanced architecture capabilities and collaborate with colleagues across the organization to drive best-in-class outcomes. You will leverage your advanced architecture expertise to design and implement solutions that reduce complexity and enhance agility while supporting the adoption of strategic global technologies. Collaborate with colleagues across the organization and partner with Enterprise Architects to drive best-in-class outcomes and deliver a seamless digital experience for our clients..
Job responsibilities
  • Advises cross-functional teams on technology selection to achieve target state architecture and decisions on improvements to current technologies
  • Develops multi-year roadmaps aligned with business and architecture strategy and priorities
  • Creates complex and scalable coding frameworks using appropriate software design
  • Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
  • Serves as the function's go-to subject matter expert
  • Contributes to the development of technical methods in specialized fields in line with the latest product development methodologies
  • Creates durable, reusable software frameworks that improves velocity and quality of output across teams and functions
  • Owns and drives the vision to simplify the Digital Channels and Connectivity estate, reducing technical debt and fragmentation
  • Leads the delivery of new capabilities that enable business growth and operational efficiency
  • Designs and builds flexible, extensible platforms that can adapt to evolving business needs and technology trends
  • Partners with stakeholders to ensure architectural decisions align with long-term strategic goals and regulatory requirements

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 7+ years applied experience
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Expertise in one or more programming language(s)
  • Deep knowledge in one or more software, applications, and architecture
  • Advanced knowledge of software architecture, application development, and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
  • Experience applying expertise and new methods to determine solutions for complex architecture problems in one or more technical disciplines
  • Experience leading a product as a Product Owner or Product Manager
  • Practical cloud native experience
  • Experience architecting and delivering digital channel solutions
  • Proven track record in simplifying complex technology estates and delivering platform transformation initiatives

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Demonstrated ability to drive platform standardization and integration across multiple business units
  • Expertise in API design, microservices architecture, and event-driven systems
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with a focus on driving consensus and alignment
  • Strong understanding of security, compliance, and regulatory requirements in payments and digital channels
