What we’re looking for

We’re looking for an experienced Principal Product Manager to own the pricing and packaging strategy across SurveyMonkey’s self-service and product-led growth (PLG) channels. This is a high-impact, individual contributor role for someone with deep expertise in SaaS monetization and a passion for using pricing as a strategic growth lever. You’ll lead initiatives that shape how we deliver and capture value—across individual, team, and global plans. You’ll partner closely with Product, Marketing, Data, Engineering, Finance, and Sales to develop, test, and operationalize pricing strategies that accelerate adoption, conversion, and revenue growth.

What you’ll be working on

  • Define and execute pricing and packaging strategy for self-service and PLG channels
  • Design and run experiments to test monetization hypotheses and improve conversion, ARPU, and retention
  • Drive customer and market research using tools like Van Westendorp, Gabor-Granger, and conjoint analysis to inform pricing decisions
  • Own international pricing optimization, including market-specific sensitivity analysis, currency localization, and infrastructure requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to model business impact, align on GTM plans, and implement pricing changes across the product and billing stack

We’d love to hear from people with

  • 8+ years of total experience in Product Management, with at least 5+ years focused on B2B SaaS pricing and packaging
  • Deep expertise in pricing frameworks and methodologies (e.g., value-based pricing, WTP analysis, segmentation strategies)
  • Experience working in self-service and PLG environments with a strong experimentation and data-driven mindset
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across Product, Marketing, Finance, and Engineering to deliver scalable pricing infrastructure and measurable impact
  • Experience with international pricing best practices and implementation at scale
  • Analytical fluency with tools such as SQL, Excel, and pricing research platforms
  • Strategic thinker with strong business judgment, customer empathy, and product sensibility

The base pay provided for this position ranges from $202,300/ year - $238,000/ year depending on the geographic market and assuming a full-time schedule. Actual base pay is based on a number of factors including market location, job-related knowledge, education or training, skills, and experience.
Bonuses and commissions may also be offered as part of the total compensation package, in addition to a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance; 401(k) retirement plan; flexible spending & health savings account; paid holidays; paid time off; employee assistance program; and other company benefits.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
