We Breathe Life Into Data

At Komodo Health, our mission is to reduce the global burden of disease. And we believe that smarter use of data is essential to this mission. That’s why we built the Healthcare Map — the industry’s largest, most complete, precise view of the U.S. healthcare system — by combining de-identified, real-world patient data with innovative algorithms and decades of clinical experience. The Healthcare Map serves as our foundation for a powerful suite of software applications, helping us answer healthcare’s most complex questions for our partners. Across the healthcare ecosystem, we’re helping our clients unlock critical insights to track detailed patient behaviors and treatment patterns, identify gaps in care, address unmet patient needs, and reduce the global burden of disease.

As we pursue these goals, it remains essential to us that we stay grounded in our values: be awesome, seek growth, deliver “wow,” and enjoy the ride. At Komodo, you will be joining a team of ambitious, supportive Dragons with diverse backgrounds but a shared passion to deliver on our mission to reduce the burden of disease — and enjoy the journey along the way.

The Opportunity at Komodo Health:

Komodo Health is seeking a Pricing Director to build and own a world-class pricing strategy that drives revenue growth, margin expansion, customer simplicity, and competitive differentiation across our product portfolio. Reporting to the VP of Product Marketing, this leader will bring analytical rigor, strategic vision, and deep cross-functional muscle to define how Komodo prices and packages its offerings.

We are looking for a builder with a strong bias for data and a genuine curiosity for how AI can sharpen and significantly speed up pricing decisions. This person will thrive at the intersection of strategy and execution, building the function from the ground up while influencing at the executive level.

Looking back on your first 12 months at Komodo Health, you will have accomplished…

  • Built a coherent, data-backed pricing framework across Komodo's product portfolio-with buy-in from Product, Finance, Revenue, and Executive leadership.
  • Established pricing governance, creating a repeatable model to make pricing decisions.
  • Put AI at the center of collecting pricing intelligence, including our existing contract data, win/loss trends, and margin considerations.

You will accomplish these outcomes through the following responsibilities…

  • Pricing Strategy: Own and evolve Komodo’s end-to-end pricing and packaging strategy across products, segments, and routes to market—balancing value-based pricing principles with commercial signals. Define product tiers, bundles, and expansion levers that support growth.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product, Finance, Revenue Operations, and Product Marketing to ensure pricing decisions are well-informed, consistently applied, and commercially viable across the full GTM motion.
  • Market & Competitive Intelligence: Build and maintain a pricing intelligence function that continuously monitors competitive pricing, win/loss data, and customer willingness to pay, translating insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Process & Governance: Establish pricing governance, including a Pricing Committee, approval workflows, and discount management policies that scale with the business.
  • Deal Support: Work with the Deal Desk to support large or complex deals by structuring pricing and packaging that maximize value capture while protecting margins and setting healthy precedents.
  • Analytics: Leverage AI tools and advanced analytics to deliver pricing insights, report on results, and model scenarios.

What you bring to Komodo Health (required):

  • 10+ years of experience in pricing strategy, revenue management, or monetization in B2B technology, with a clear track record of commercial impact.
  • Specific experience with usage-based, consumption, or outcome-based pricing models.
  • AI-forward: Demonstrates a thirst to understand how AI is reshaping pricing strategy and monetization. Actively uses AI tools to accelerate analysis, scenario modeling, and decision-making.
  • Analytical rigor: Highly data-driven with strong financial modeling and analytical skills; comfortable turning large, messy datasets into clear pricing recommendations and economic models. Fosters a culture of intellectual curiosity, data-driven experimentation, and cross-functional respect.
  • Strong cross-functional collaborator: Proven ability to build trust and drive alignment across Product, Finance, Sales, and Marketing.
  • Builder mindset: Excels at taking ownership in environments where the function, processes, and systems need to be built from the ground up.
  • Excellent communicator who can distill complex quantitative analyses into clear, confident recommendations for executive audiences.

Additional skills and experience we’ll prioritize…

  • Experience in healthcare IT, life sciences, data/analytics, or other complex B2B markets.
  • More technical proficiency for analysis, e.g., SQL.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
