Resonate is a leading provider of high-quality, AI-powered consumer data, intelligence, and technology, empowering marketers to create a more personalized world that increases customer acquisition and lifetime value. Our SaaS platform, Ignite, and our Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) offerings provide unparalleled insights into consumer motivations, values, and behaviors, enabling our clients to connect with their target audiences in more meaningful and effective ways. We are a dynamic and fast-growing company seeking passionate and innovative individuals to join our team!

The best campaigns run on intelligence. At Resonate, we give brands, agencies, and organizations something most data companies can’t: a real understanding of why people think and behave the way they do - not just who they are on paper.

We’re looking for a Pre-Sales Specialist to join our Presales Solutions team. This is a client-facing role that spans a varied mix of client types - brands, media agencies, and advocacy organizations - each with their own goals, timelines, and ways of working. Fast-moving by nature, and genuinely varied.

What you'll be doing

You’ll work closely with the sales team to turn client needs into compelling, data-backed solutions - getting into the details on audience design, proposals, budgets, and campaign documentation, and building your pre-sales skills as you go.

In this role, you can expect to:

  • Partner with sales on the full pre-sales cycle - from discovery calls and briefings through to final presentations with senior stakeholders across our agency, brand, and advocacy clients
  • Draft Managed Media and data proposals, including audience design, budget tables, insertion orders, and supporting campaign documentation
  • Deliver product demos and technical presentations that bring Resonate's data depth and capabilities to life for clients
  • Translate complex datasets into clear, actionable strategies that drive measurable outcomes for clients
  • Collaborate with Product and Research teams to feed client insights back into the roadmap
  • Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing - case studies, POVs, and best practices

The environment

We’re a growth-stage company, which means there’s real scale and sophistication here, but also plenty of room to shape how things get built. The client mix keeps things varied - some clients move fast and work to tight seasonal deadlines, others bring a steady rhythm of ongoing campaign planning. If you like variety and want to build expertise across more than one client type, this role has that built in.

What we're looking for

You don't need to have done this exact job before - but you do need to have the foundations. Here's what matters most:

The non-negotiables

  • 1-3 years of experience in media planning, campaign management, or pre-sales
  • Strong analytical skills - you can take a complex dataset and turn it into a clear story
  • Excellent communication, written and verbal - you’re comfortable presenting to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines without things slipping
  • An interest in working on media and activation campaigns across agency, brand, and advocacy clients - you’re curious about how different organizations reach and persuade audiences
  • We care about what you can do more than where you studied. A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience works for us.

Strong signals we'd love to see

  • Experience in programmatic, AdTech, SaaS, or a data-driven media environment
  • Familiarity with DMPs, DSPs, or audience-based buying
  • Prior experience at a media agency or in a client-facing media or data role
  • Comfort working in environments that aren't fully defined yet - you build the process as much as you follow it

Why Resonate

  • You’ll work across a varied client mix where the work actually matters - campaigns and organizations trying to reach and move real audiences at scale
  • Our data goes deeper than demographics. We understand the values, beliefs, and motivations behind consumer behavior - and that’s what you’ll be selling
  • Growth-stage means your work is visible. You're not a cog - you're someone who can genuinely shape how this team operates
  • A collaborative team that wins together and shares the credit

Resonate Attributes

At Resonate, we care about more than your experience on paper. We look for teammates who bring the right mindset and ways of working to help us do great work, together. The Resonators who thrive here embody these qualities:

  • Proactive Problem-Solving: You spot challenges early and take initiative to solve them.
  • Ownership: You take initiative, follow through, and hold yourself accountable.
  • Collaboration: You value working with others and building strong, respectful relationships.
  • Adaptability: You stay steady through change and adjust when needed.
  • Growth Mindset: You’re open to learning, feedback, and trying new things.
  • Customer Focus: You keep the end user in mind and aim for impact.
  • Clear Communication: You express ideas simply and listen to understand.
  • Integrity & Empathy: You act with honesty and consider the people around you.
  • Strategic Thinking: You focus on what matters most and work with purpose.
  • Drive: You show up motivated and ready to move things forward.
  • Readiness: You bring the skills to contribute meaningfully from day one.

These attributes are the foundation of how we work and grow together!

Benefits

Besides the opportunity to work alongside smart, fun, and hard-working colleagues at Resonate, you'll also enjoy uncapped growth potential, the chance to have a meaningful impact on the company, and the opportunity to work on cutting-edge, AI-powered marketing data and identity solutions that are forever changing the industry. From a competitive 401(k) match to an Open PTO policy that encourages real time off, we’re committed to creating an environment where our team members can thrive both inside and outside of work. Our comprehensive benefits package is designed to meet the diverse needs of our employees and their families. A full list of benefits is shared with candidates following their initial conversation with our HR team, so you’ll have a clear understanding of the support and resources available to you as part of the Resonate team.

Location

At Resonate, we take a remote-first approach to work, offering a flexible environment that empowers our team to collaborate seamlessly across different locations. While we embrace remote work, we also encourage thoughtful and intentional in-person collaboration to foster connection and teamwork when needed. Whether you're working from home or joining us in one of our state-of-the-art offices, you'll have the tools and resources you need to succeed.

Resonate is headquartered in Reston, VA, with offices in New York City and Washington, D.C.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
