The Job/What You’ll Do:

The PR & investment Communications Lead will work closely with the Director of Corporate and Advisor Communications to execute the PR strategy and support day-to-day Corporate Communications necessary to elevate AssetMark in the marketplace.

Additionally, the PR & Investment Lead will work with the investment team to create a voice and strategy for elevating investment insights and products to our clients and through the media. Working closely with stakeholders across the firm, including senior and executive leaders and functional content owners, the PR & Investment Communications Lead is responsible for developing content for external audiences.

The PR & Communications Lead will manage proactive and reactive media relations, working closely with AssetMark’s PR agency partners and internal SMEs (e.g., product and service excellence team, advisor journey marketing team, and content strategists. The role will report to the Director of Corporate and Advisor Communications.

This is a full-time position in our Concord, CA office with a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Director of Corporate & Advisor Communications in developing and implementing our external communications programs in alignment with the firm’s broader business goals
  • Assist in managing the day-to-day activities of the PR agency and serve as a liaison between the agency and internal SMEs/stakeholders
  • Collaborate with senior investment leaders to develop strategic communications campaigns on product launches, thought leadership, events, etc., and promote in compelling and creative ways
  • Partner with Product Excellence Leads Advisor Journey Marketing leads to ensure consistent, impactful, and effective messaging to engage our advisors
  • Collaborate with the marketing leads to create a voice and strategy for packaging our market, investment, and portfolio construction insights and leaders to ensure our messaging is easy to access and delivered in a variety of mediums to reach our clients and prospects
  • Develop and lead a proactive PR strategy to elevate AssetMark and its executives in a consistent manner throughout the year
  • Develop content and resources that establish and reinforce AMK values, brand/positioning, and priorities, such as:
    • Award nominations/entries
    • Press releases
    • Website copy
    • Presentation content
    • Byline articles
    • Social media content
  • Work with the brand team to find ways to elevate the brand and ensure consistency of message through our client engagements
  • Manage measurement and reporting of PR success metrics and milestones, and create a quarterly reporting dashboard for Executives

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent writing and editing skills with a diverse portfolio of written work (samples required)
  • Proficient in PowerPoint and Microsoft applications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a major in communications, journalism, marketing, or equivalent field
  • 5+ years of PR and/or communications experience either in-house or at an agency
  • A track record of developing and delivering communication strategies
  • Strong experience working closely with journalists and responding to media requests 
  • Experience working in the financial services industry – preferred
  • Background in developing varied collateral for external audiences – preferred

Compensation: The Base Salary range for this position is between $95,000-$130,000.

 

This information reflects a base salary range that AssetMark reasonably expects to pay for the position based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and actual work location. This position will also be eligible for additional variable incentive compensation and competitive benefits.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US to be considered. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.
