Overview

We’re looking for an experienced Graphic Designer / PowerPoint Presentation Specialist to support our Creative Studio on a part-time, contract basis. This role is primarily focused on designing high-impact PowerPoint presentations—including executive, sales, marketing, and brand strategy decks—but will also support production graphic design work during lighter presentation weeks.

You’ll partner closely with internal stakeholders and our Creative Studio team to translate complex ideas into clear, compelling visual stories. This is an ideal role for someone who loves presentations, thinks strategically about narrative and audience, and maintains a high bar for craft and clarity.

Key Responsibilities

PowerPoint & Presentation Design (Primary Focus)

  • Design, edit, and enhance PowerPoint presentations for product marketing, product, brand, sales, and internal communications
  • Translate complex concepts into clear, visually engaging stories aligned with brand voice and design standards
  • Improve narrative flow, visual consistency, hierarchy, and overall impact of existing decks
  • Create flexible, easy-to-use PowerPoint templates for non-design teams, as well as polished, high‑end presentation decks
  • Partner with stakeholders to provide thoughtful recommendations—not just execute requests

Graphic Design Production (Secondary / As Needed)

  • Support basic production graphic design tasks when presentation work is light
  • Execute updates and adaptations across existing design systems and templates
  • Work in InDesign, Illustrator, and Figma to support production needs across marketing assets

Ways of Working

  • Work within weekly (Monday–Friday) design sprints
  • Tasks are assigned the Friday prior to each sprint week, via Asana
  • Due dates vary throughout the week; revisions and stakeholder feedback are common
  • Working hours are flexible as long as deadlines are met and communication is clear

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Proven experience designing marketing communications and brand decks
  • Strong storytelling instincts with the ability to think strategically about message, audience, and structure
  • Exceptional visual design skills with a refined sense of typography, layout, color, and hierarchy
  • Deep PowerPoint expertise, including master slides, templates, and usability for non-designers
  • High attention to detail and a strong point of view on what makes a presentation effective
  • Comfortable partnering with stakeholders and offering strategic, thoughtful recommendations
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with varying timelines while maintaining a high bar for quality
  • Proficiency in InDesign, Illustrator, and Figma
  • Experience supporting production-level graphic design work

Engagement Details

  • Hours: 15–20 hours per week
  • Location: Remote
  • Rate: $70–85/hour
  • Duration: thru Nov/Dec. 2026

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
