Position: PowerBuilder Developer/Programmer
Duration: 10 - Months
Location: St. Paul, Minnesota - Remote
Responsibilities:
  • Work with teams to resolve bugs, defects, and maintain/enhance PowerBuilder applications (tracked via Jira).
  • Troubleshoot issues in legacy PowerBuilder systems; collaborate with Technical Leads and Business Analysts for resolution.
  • Perform unit and code testing per procedures and industry standards.
  • Support QA and UAT testing.
  • Manage source code, changes, and releases in line with practices.
  • Contribute to Drinking Water Protection modernization initiatives.
  • Attend and actively participate in team, planning, and stand-up meetings.
  • Participate in requirements analysis, code reviews, sprint planning/reviews, and current state assessments.
  • Estimate task durations and efforts.
  • Communicate task status, issues, and blockers to Technical Leads/SMEs and help resolve them.
  • Work on Java migrations or future-state Java applications as needed.
  • Provide knowledge transfer to internal State staff.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Strong experience with PowerBuilder application development
  • Experience writing PL/SQL database procedures
  • Familiarity with PFC class libraries
  • Proficient in Client-Server development (VB, Delphi, or PowerBuilder)
  • Experience with Git for source control
  • Proficient in SQL (CRUD operations, view creation)
  • Experience working with Oracle relational databases
  • Ability to understand and modernize legacy applications/code
  • Experience with JavaScript frameworks like Angular, React, or Vue
