In this position...

As a Power Systems Integration Engineer (HV), you will be responsible for complete end to end integration of high voltage systems, including associated conversion, distribution, load management, mode management. You will be the site’s local contact for all things related to HV power systems and control, including bench, buck, and vehicle bring-up and feature testing. You will also support complementary Low Voltage (LV) Power Systems Integration. You will support design reviews, capture all lessons learned, and provide recursive feedback on functional/physical architectures to drive us toward an optimized product.


Responsibilities

What you’ll do:

  • Support integration efforts for various HV electrical power system components, such as body controllers, power distribution controllers, power conversion controllers, and charge controllers.
  • Develop the power and mode management vehicle features, working with hardware, software, systems, and safety, to deliver features and uncover requirement / verification gaps.
  • Lead the HV power system and LV power system bring-up activities on all buck / vehicle builds, becoming the point person for the program in these domains
  • Root cause LV power system issues, including communication and performance bugs
  • Support manufacturing integration as it relates to power systems and mode management
  • Design test-cases and verification of system level functions on multiple test assets (benches, lab cars and vehicles).
  • Lead incremental and complete feature integration, reporting progress, creating bug tickets, referencing requirements as needed, and prioritizing efforts across vehicle fleet 
Qualifications
  • B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Embedded Systems or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Strong Electrical and Embedded Systems Engineering fundamentals
  • > 3 years of experience in HV system, feature, and/or vehicle integration
  • Proficiency with Vehicle Network Protocols such as CAN, LIN, & Automotive Ethernet
  • Experience and working knowledge of systems development, vehicle architecture, emerging battery, charge, and power systems technologies, software/hardware tool development, functional safety, network and diagnostics process.
  • Experience using industry standard network data visualization, logging, and bus interaction tools, such as Vector and Intrepid
  • Experience integrating power electronic systems, DC to DC and AC to DC converters
  • Experience deploying software to buck/vehicle builds, executing tests, capturing test results, and communicating cross-functionally issues that arise
  • Experience with electrical / functional root-causing and debug
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%

  • M.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or equivalent.
  • Proven technical expertise in HV Power Systems Design, Architecture, and Integration, with understanding of the intricacies of the physically realized system
  • > 5 years of experience in system, feature, and/or vehicle integration
  • Experience integrating components bearing ASIL-rated functionality and the implications to adjacent components
  • Experience with UDS: polling and interpreting DTCs, invoking DID read/writes, initiating routine controls, establishing programming sessions, etc.
  • Expertise in EVSE communication protocols and experience debugging communication / sequence issues
  • Experience building, interpreting, and realizing activity/sequence diagrams, functional block diagrams, networking databases (DBC, ARXML, etc.)
  • An eagerness to work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment where you are part of a high performing team
  • Confidence in rapidly identifying issues, assessing the impacts, reporting to stakeholders, supporting resolution, and driving to closure

This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $118,700-$198,500., 

This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $138,800-$232,700.  

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
