Requirements

We’re looking for a team player, who is motivated by delivering great work and the Hitachi vision. The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and background:

  • Power System Research Scientist in the areas of electric power distribution and transmission systems
  • Conduct research in power system analysis, focusing on both distribution and transmission.
  • Collaborate with internal and external cross-functional teams, including utility partners, academic institutions, and government agencies.
  • Publish research findings in peer-reviewed paper/journal

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or any other related degree with 1-3 years of experiences in power system.
  • Demonstrated expertise in both distribution and transmission system analysis.
  • Knowledge of transmission analysis such as power flow, stability, and contingency analysis is preferred.
  • Knowledge of economic analysis preferred.
  • Knowledge of distribution power flow analytics, nature of electrical loads is preferred.
  • Knowledge of smart grid technologies, microgrids, DER management, and control systems is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Python is a must.
  • Proficiency in AI/ML algorithm development is preferred.
  • Familiar with power system simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, OpenDSS, PSSE, or GridLAB-D is preferred.

Pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area. Employees are eligible to participate in Hitachi America’s variable pay program, subject to the program’s conditions and restrictions.
