Lead enterprise Power BI architecture and governance, design scalable semantic models and high-performance reports, enable self-service analytics, optimize large-dataset performance, and mentor analytics teams while aligning solutions with business requirements and data engineering.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Power BI Architect / Lead to serve as the enterprise technical authority for Power BI and analytics visualization solutions. This role will lead architecture, design governance, and implementation of scalable business intelligence platforms supporting enterprise data strategy, performance, and analytics adoption.
The ideal candidate will drive end-to-end analytics delivery, build optimized semantic models, and enable self-service BI capabilities while collaborating closely with business stakeholders, data engineering teams, and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the Power BI Subject Matter Expert (SME) and technical leader for enterprise analytics initiatives.
- Architect, design, and implement enterprise-scale Power BI solutions aligned with data governance and platform standards.
- Lead development of scalable dashboards and reporting solutions handling large transactional datasets (1M+ rows).
- Design and maintain enterprise semantic models and reusable data layers.
- Translate complex business requirements into intuitive, interactive Power BI dashboards.
- Optimize report performance using advanced DAX, data modeling techniques, and query optimization strategies.
- Establish Power BI governance, standards, and best practices across teams.
- Partner with data engineering teams to align data pipelines with reporting requirements.
- Bridge business and technical teams to ensure successful analytics adoption.
- Drive modernization initiatives by transitioning legacy reporting into self-service analytics solutions.
- Provide architectural guidance and mentorship to onshore/offshore analytics teams.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or Data Visualization.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI in enterprise environments.
- Strong expertise in:
- Power BI Service & Power BI Desktop
- Data Modeling (Star Schema, Semantic Models)
- Advanced DAX development and optimization
- Power Query (M Language)
- Performance tuning and large dataset optimization
- Experience working with enterprise-scale reporting and analytics platforms.
- Strong experience gathering and translating business requirements.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Azure Data Platform (Azure Synapse, Azure SQL, Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric).
- Knowledge of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and analytics architecture.
- Experience implementing BI governance frameworks and self-service analytics programs.
- Consulting or enterprise delivery experience preferred.
