The Post Production Coordinator ensures smooth communication between production staff and clients, manages project elements, and oversees deadlines, quality control, and billing paperwork.
Job Summary & Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Serves as liaison between production staff and the client (Show, Studio, executives, and post-production facility); helps ensure a smooth finishing process and overall client experience.
- Responsible for coordinating elements of each project while facilitating clear line of communication with clients, vendors and production staff to support the teams with all aspects of the finishing process up to the final delivery.
- Gathers, downloads and preps materials from client (i.e., LTO’s,graphics, Bin,EDL’s, OMF’s,VFX, Offlines) and then coordinates with Operations & Scheduling to reserve bay space and production staff.
- Collaborates with the necessary staff, including but not limited to the Producers and editors/mixers to troubleshoot any complications that may arise.
- Partners with finishing staff and assists Producers with overseeing projects to ensure they are completed in a timely manner and meet client’s deadlines.
- Must stay in direct contact with the Producers as well as clients to deliver regular project updates, status, and outlines to deliver a product that aligns with their vision.
- Participates in performing quality control on all masters and coordinates the delivery of finished materials to the appropriate end destination.
- Assists the Producers in any way necessary to maintain the workflow.
- Assist production staff in achieving operational objectives by ensuring all broadcasting/theatrical standards are met, as well as client approval.
- Manages billing paperwork: opens and closes work orders, ensuring that all hours are entered into Xytech.
- Must exhibit excellent communication skills and must be organized, efficient, and accurate under pressure.
Required Skills:
- Prior work experience in a post-production facility and/or entertainment company is required.
- Must be familiar with Post-Production workflow including online editing, and color correction
- Excellent communication skills and must be organized, efficient, and accurate under pressure.
- Must be flexible to meet ever-changing needs of clients and able to work on multiple projects simultaneously while displaying a high level of professionalism.
Preferred Skills:
- Understanding of MPAA guidelines and guild restrictions is a plus.
Education:
- High School education or equivalent required.
- BA/BS in applicable field preferred.
