Job Description
DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Build and maintain financial models and conduct various analyses including, valuation, returns, dilution analysis, competitive analysis, market sizing and analysis, and financial forecasting. Conduct comprehensive due diligence across technology and consumer industries. Develop investment theses on companies in the technology and consumer spaces and assist with legal document drafting such as term sheets, articles of incorporation and transaction structuring. Responsible for the ongoing monitoring and support of portfolio companies, including supporting sales pipeline generation, financial forecasting and strategic initiative planning. Develop and maintain relationships with target companies, entrepreneurs, industry executives, and investment professionals. Evaluate and analyze independent investment judgments.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or related field of study plus two (2) years of experience in the job offered or as Portfolio Manager, Investment Banking Analyst/Associate, Strategic Finance Analyst/Associate, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: Investment banking including structuring, analyzing and executing transactions on behalf of companies in the technology and consumer industries, including equity offerings and debt offerings; Performing valuation analyses in Excel for companies in the technology and consumer industries, including discounted cash flow analysis, leveraged buyout analysis, accretion, dilution and ability-to-pay analysis, public trading comparables, precedent transactions, and sum-of-the-parts analysis; Performing detailed quantitative analysis and synthesizing and analyzing research from a variety of sources including 8Ks, 10Ks, proxies and Wall Street analyst research reports to create PowerPoint presentations on specific companies and markets; Developing views on market size, market growth and competitive dynamics to determine overall attractiveness of a market; Analyzing software company financials, including customer cohort analysis and unit economic calculations; Leading live deal execution, including running due diligence processes, negotiating non-disclosure agreements with lawyers, and drafting SEC filings and other legal documents; Building 3-statement financial forecasts based on operational inputs from multiple teams within an organization, historical company performance, and macro-economic conditions; Preparing materials evaluating strategic initiatives, including revenue generation and cost saving initiatives and assessing future fundraising needs; working cross-functionally with internal teams, external lawyers, and investment bankers to execute a financial transaction.
Job Location: 560 Mission Street, San Francisco, CA 94105. This position requires up to 15% domestic and international travel.
Full-Time. Salary: $225,000 - $235,000 per year.
