The NFL is hiring a Podcast Strategy & Insights Associate for its Audience Development Team. The Audience Development team is responsible for distributing and programming content across the NFL’s digital ecosystem, reaching millions of NFL fans each day.  This role’s core mandate is to oversee the NFL Podcast Network including developing future slate strategy, analyzing performance across distribution points, and providing actionable insights that grow audiences and deliver long-term value for the NFL and its audio partners.  The ideal candidate is a strong self-starter who can combine an interest in the audio landscape with creative thinking and a foundation in analytics. Core responsibilities include deep-dive analysis to develop future slate strategy, delivering performance insights, developing and executing promotional strategy across internal and external endpoints and monitoring industry macro trends. This role collaborates with Business Development, NFL Production, Programming, NFL Clubs and external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with NFL’s audio partners and NFL production to develop the NFL Podcast Network’s show slate strategy through deep-dive analysis
  • Assess podcast performance across all audio and video endpoints including iHeart App, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, free ad-supported TV, etc. to optimize programming and uncover growth opportunities.
  • Partner with Business Development to project consumption and performance for the entire slate across all distribution platforms.
  • Provide weekly, quarterly, and annual reporting for podcast performance across key digital touch points to ensure alignment with programming and broader organizational goals.
  • Lead promotional programming strategy and execution across all NFL Digital touchpoints including FAST, NFL App, NFL Daily Newsletter, NFL.com, and across podcast channels.
  • Oversee social clip workflow to distribute viral clips from podcasts to all social channels and YouTube.
  • Provide best practices to NFL Clubs including in-depth analysis of Club produced podcasts providing insights that improve performance.
  • Coordinate between NFL Clubs and league audio partners to address Club concerns and troubleshoot as needed.
  • Ad hoc content analysis as requested by leadership, Business Development and production teams.
  • Assist on other projects and tasks as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in media or podcast space with a deep knowledge of the sports and media ecosystems.
  • 1+ years of analytical experience working with complex data sets and analytical tools including but not limited to Triton, Omny, YouTube Analytics, PowerBI, etc. 
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to proactively identify and address new areas of opportunity.
  • Comfortable and confident presenting to senior leadership across League and NFL Clubs.
  • Proven experience working in data-driven environments, building compelling narratives using data insights to inform key business decisions. 
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, etc. with the ability to convert data into clear, concise visualizations.

Terms / Expected Hours of Work

  • NFL employees are required to work 40 hours per week.
  • This job posting is for a position with one of the NFL’s third-party agency partners that provides services to the NFL. The individual selected for this role will be an employee of that third-party agency and not the NFL. All compensation, benefits, and other terms and conditions of employment are handled by the agency. The assignment to provide services to the NFL will be limited in duration but may be extended for an additional period by agreement between the NFL and the agency.

Salary / Pay Range

This job posting contains a pay range, which represents the range of salaries or hourly rates that the NFL believes, in good faith, at the time of this posting that it might be willing to pay for the posted job in the location(s) specified. The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.
