Manager – PMO Services (Project Manager)

Great project managers don't coordinate work. They lead it.

At CFGI, we believe project management is much more than maintaining timelines and facilitating meetings. The best project managers create momentum, build confidence, solve problems before they become obstacles, and give leaders the visibility they need to make informed decisions.

If you take pride in delivering outcomes, thrive in fast-moving environments, and enjoy bringing structure, we'd love to meet you.

We're looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead client engagements, partnering with executive sponsors, business leaders, and teams to deliver on their initiatives.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead business and technology projects from planning through successful implementation, ensuring every initiative delivers measurable business outcomes.
  • Build and actively manage project plans, scope, risks, issues, dependencies, and stakeholder alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead cross-functional teams, bringing structure, accountability, and momentum to complex initiatives.
  • Partner with business and technology leaders to proactively remove roadblocks and accelerate execution.
  • Treat communication as a deliverable—not an administrative task. Develop executive-ready presentations, steering committee materials, weekly recaps, dashboards, and status reports that create clarity, inspire confidence, and enable better decision-making.
  • Create meaningful visibility into project health by communicating not only what is happening, but why it matters, what decisions are needed, and what comes next.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our project delivery methodologies, templates, and best practices.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients by consistently demonstrating ownership, professionalism, and exceptional execution.

What You Must Have:

  • 6–8+ years of experience leading business or technology projects.
  • Experience personally leading projects from initiation through successful delivery—not simply coordinating activities for others.
  • Demonstrated success delivering enterprise initiatives with multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience building and managing project plans while proactively managing risks, issues, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and keeping diverse stakeholders aligned around a common objective.
  • Strong executive communication and presentation skills, including the ability to create polished, compelling client-facing deliverables.

What Sets You Apart:

  • Experience leading business process improvement, technology implementation, finance transformation, ERP, AI, M&A integration, or similar strategic initiatives.
  • Experience creating executive-ready presentations, status reports, dashboards, and steering committee materials that communicate the story behind a project—not just its status.
  • A demonstrated ability to build trust through clear communication, anticipation of challenges, and bringing structure to complexity.

Nice to Have:

  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, and Scrum.
  • Proficiency in project management tools such as Smartsheet, Asana, Monday.com, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms.

Who Thrives Here:

  • Takes pride in personally owning delivery and outcomes.
  • Thrives in fast-moving, complex environments.
  • Brings structure and clarity to ambiguity.
  • Proactively identifies challenges and removes roadblocks.
  • Builds trust with clients, leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Has a passion for project management as a profession and a commitment to delivering exceptional client outcomes.

If you're looking for a role where project management is treated as administrative coordination, this probably isn't it. If you're passionate about leading delivery, creating executive-level visibility, and helping clients successfully execute their most important initiatives, we'd love to hear from you.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
