About the Role:

As the PM - Market Adoption (Project Manager within Product), you will be a key driver of strategic projects and programs within the Product organization, reporting directly to the VP Market Adoption Product Management. A typical day could involve preparing a briefing for our Customer Advisory Board, collaborating with Marketing on our presentation strategy for an upcoming analyst briefing, and then distilling insights from that meeting into an executive summary for our product leadership. You will be the "voice of the product" at major industry events, translating our technical roadmap into a compelling value proposition for customers and the broader market. You will collaborate regularly with and train under the Business Operations Director / Chief of Staff for the CTO, including providing back-up coverage when needed. This is a highly visible role that requires a unique blend of strategic thinking, customer-facing evangelism, and cross-functional leadership.

Roadmap for Success:

Within 30 Days:

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of SailPoint's product portfolio, vision, and strategic priorities while training under the Business Operations Director (“Chief of Staff”) to the CTO.

  • Establish key relationships with leaders in the Product Management and Marketing organizations.

  • Partner with existing Analyst Relations (AR) team, collaborating key upcoming milestones.

  • Shadow and support your first Executive Briefing or customer meeting to understand the process and content.

Within 90 Days:

  • Drive ownership of the product strategy for analyst briefings, partnering with Marketing to create compelling content and narratives for at least one major analyst engagement.

  • Begin to synthesize analyst feedback and market trends into a monthly summary with actionable insights for the CPO and Inbound PM team.

  • Co-lead the planning and execution of a CPO-level initiative, such as a Customer Advisory Board meeting, from agenda setting to follow-up actions.

Within 6 Months:

  • Independently lead and execute at least two major CPO-level programs, demonstrating full ownership and delivering measurable results.

  • Act as the primary "voice of the product" at a significant industry event or customer summit, confidently presenting our product roadmap and value proposition.

  • Establish a refined, repeatable process for gathering, synthesizing, and distributing market and analyst feedback to influence the product roadmap.

Within 1 Year:

  • Be recognized as the go-to expert and strategic partner for the CPO on all external-facing product communications and programs.

  • Demonstrate a clear, positive impact on our analyst rankings and market perception through your strategic leadership of the AR product strategy.

  • Proactively identify and propose new strategic initiatives to the CPO that will enhance our market leadership and customer engagement.

Requirements:

  • 3-4 years being a Business Analyst or Senior Business Analyst in Top tier management consulting company (McKinsey, BCG, Bain) supporting Tech/software clients, or 3-6 years of experience in business operations, outbound product management, product marketing, corporate strategy, Chief of Staff or a similar customer-facing or analyst-relations role within the enterprise/security/AI software industry

  • Proven experience leading executive-level programs and initiatives with high visibility.

  • Strong analytics and problem-solving skills

  • Adaptability and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment.

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling value propositions for diverse audiences.

  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and influence across an organization, from technical teams to C-level executives.

  • Experience in the identity security market is a significant plus.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
