About the Role:

We are looking for a Principal Product Lead - ML Personalization (Search & Discovery) to partner with our ML ranking & personalization teams to drive the vision & strategy, help shape our systems and user experiences.  Unlocking a blend of supervised and un-supervised learning, building Entity Understanding of users, products, brands, categories, offers and relationships across them all to power offer personalization and ranking, shelf automation, full page optimization, search, post-purchase recommendations, ad optimization, bid & creative optimization and more.  We are looking for a PM who’s “done this” at scale, is at the cutting edge of LLMs and genAI to know what makes sense to apply and what doesn’t, and can raise the bar in our vision and outcomes.

Whether on the home page with shelves, hero imagery, and collections, via search or after a purchase to recommend related items, how can we match the user to the right content at the right price at the right time with the right creative?  We have $180bn of line item level gross merchandise value (GMV) that users are sharing with us for personalized rewards.  A treasure trove of data with self selected, opted-in users opening the app to find something awesome.  Make it easy for them to discover on-open, while pulling them in to browse and explore.

This is a full-time role that can be held from one of our US offices or remotely in the United States.

Responsibilities:

  • Meaningful uplift is driven regularly, measured, with innovation, intuition, data driven & velocity.
  • Set the mission, vision, strategy, priorities, roadmaps & OKRs for your initiatives, and collaborate cross-functionally to align stakeholders.
  • Immerse yourself in the Fetch consumer and partner needs and become an expert in user understanding, cohorting, behaviors and the two-sided marketplace.
  • Use a combination of product instincts and data to drive decisions and results.
  • Partner with ML and Data Science leaders on strategies to drive breadth, depth and accuracy of our optimizations & insights, building core infra and powering specific use cases, elevating our data & insights understanding.
  • Contribute to to elevate our culture and rhythms to raise the bar of our product craft as an organization, and contribute to overall business strategy & success.
  • No excuses; take ownership and responsibility for outcomes in a fast paced environment, challenge ideas, be challenged.

In your Toolbox (Minimum Requirements):

  • Deep experience with ML, recommendation systems, entity understanding, personalization, ranking.
  • 6+ years of product management experience in relevant domains, demonstrating deep product thinking and execution ability.
  • Proven experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Search and discovery systems for streaming, music, shopping, or content platforms
    • Search optimization and relevance
    • Advertising systems: ads quality, auction optimization, real-time bidding (RTB), inventory optimization, forecasting, audience segmentation/targeting, programmatic advertising, bid optimization, and auction mechanics
    • Demonstrated excellence in core PM responsibilities: setting vision and strategy, prioritizing roadmaps, delivering impactful products, and driving measurable business outcomes. Experience working with OKRs and leading cross-functional collaboration with sales, marketing, and services teams to launch and scale products.
    • Thrive in fast-paced environments with evolving priorities. Skilled at building 0-to-1 products, pivoting when needed, and fostering open-minded collaboration—able to challenge ideas and embrace constructive feedback.
    • Deep understanding of user behavior and two-sided marketplaces. Capable of designing solutions that optimize for multiple, often competing, objectives.

Nice to haves/Bonus Points (Preferred Requirements): 

  • 10+ years of product management experience, ideally in high-impact roles within search, discovery, personalization, or ad tech.
