Description

Job Title: Platform & Security Lead

Location: Los Angeles, CA (On-site)

Position: Full-Time

Reports To: VP of Engineering

About the Company:

TGR Solutions, Inc. designs and builds autonomous robots for regulated environments and is based in the heart of Los Angeles, California. TGR develops robotics solutions from the ground up and builds integrated systems that help organizations apply robotics and AI to demanding work.

TGR’s flagship product, the A1 ADIBOT, is a fully autonomous UV-C disinfection robot that is deployed in facilities around the world. TGR team members come from diverse disciplines and backgrounds and share a hands-on approach to building robotics products.

Job Description:

The Platform & Security Lead will own security for TGR’s robots and the cloud systems behind them, and will decide what software reaches customer sites. Our engineering team builds and runs the platform. You set its security architecture, review the changes that carry risk, and approve every release.

You will be responsible for the setup, including the release process, code signing and the SBOM pipeline. Under our quality system, your reviews and release decisions become documented records that an auditor needs later. Our engineering team handles day-to-day operations and on-call, and you lead security incidents. We use AI tooling heavily and expect you to as well.

Responsibilities:

• Own the security architecture for our cloud platform, customer-facing systems and robot software.

• Approve every release of robot software and backend services. No release reaches a customer site without your sign-off.

• Design and run key custody for software updates, code signing and device identity.

• Decide on updates to robots already in the field, new third-party dependencies, security exceptions and production access.

• Review the changes that carry risk and tell the engineering team which ones need a closer look.

• Write and maintain security policy, incident response and vulnerability response procedures, and lead security incidents.

• Build the cybersecurity requirements that healthcare customers and regulators expect: a secure development process, a software bill of materials and ongoing vulnerability monitoring.

• Set up the release process, signing and SBOM pipeline.

• Keep your reviews and release decisions as documented records that can stand up to a later audit.

• Walk customer security teams through our architecture, including on occasional customer visits and at trade shows.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, cybersecurity, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

• 8+ years of experience in security, platform or infrastructure engineering, including 3+ years securing production device fleets or cloud platforms.

• Experience securing a fleet of networked Linux devices in production.

• Working knowledge of TLS and certificate lifecycle, network segmentation and API security.

• Experience building or running signed over-the-air updates, including rollback and installs that stop halfway.

• Ability to read cloud and device code and tell which changes need a closer look.

• Ability to walk a hospital security team through your architecture.

• Comfort owning decisions with significant autonomy as the first hire in a function.

• Daily use of AI tooling in your engineering work.

TGR is an equal-opportunity employer and is committed to providing a workplace that is inclusive, diverse, and free of discrimination. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, military/veteran status, or any other status protected by applicable federal, state, or local laws. We actively encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply and believe that a diverse workforce contributes to the strength and success of our organization. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to any of the aforementioned factors. If you require accommodation in the application process, please let us know.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
