About Talex.ai

Talex.ai is building the expert workforce layer for the AI future — connecting top domain professionals with frontier AI teams to deliver high-quality, human-aligned data at scale. We combine a talent marketplace, smart task routing, and agent-powered infrastructure to improve how AI systems learn and evolve.

We’re not automating humans. We’re empowering experts. At Talex.ai, your physics expertise helps AI systems reason, solve complex problems, and understand the world with scientific precision.

The Role

We are seeking recent Physics PhDs or early-career researchers to contribute to groundbreaking AI projects. You will design and develop challenging physics problems that train state-of-the-art large language models. This role offers a unique opportunity to apply your research expertise to cutting-edge AI applications and directly influence model reasoning in the physical sciences.

What You’ll Do
  • Problem Development: Create high-quality, complex physics problems that test AI reasoning and problem-solving.
  • Solution Verification: Ensure every problem and solution is accurate, logically sound, and conceptually rigorous.
  • Difficulty Scaling: Categorize and refine problems across multiple complexity levels to maintain engagement and challenge.
  • Applied Scenarios: Design questions that reflect real-world physics applications, not just theoretical exercises.
  • Quality Assurance: Review AI-generated outputs for correctness, clarity, and consistency with physics principles.

RequirementsWhat We’re Looking For
  • PhD in Physics from a top-tier university (recent graduates welcome).
  • Strong analytical, logical reasoning, and problem-creation skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
  • Comfortable working asynchronously in a fully remote environment.

Bonus Points If You:

  • Have experience creating educational or competition-level physics problems.
  • Have prior involvement in AI/ML projects or scientific data annotation.

BenefitsWhy Join Talex.ai?
  • Immediate impact: Shape AI systems from day one with your physics expertise.
  • Global community: Collaborate asynchronously with top-tier PhDs and domain experts worldwide.
  • Flexible schedule: Work remotely, 10–20 hrs/week (up to 40 hrs), on your own timetable.
  • Professional growth: Gain hands-on experience at the frontier of AI while building your research profile.
  • Empowerment over automation: Your skills aren’t being replaced — they are defining the next generation of AI.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
