As a Results Analyst within the Equity team in Los Angeles, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely performance measurement (results) and portfolio analytics for Capital Group’s suite of mutual funds and institutional accounts. You will calculate, extract, and analyze portfolio results, attribution, and analytics to support investment oversight. You’ll play a critical role in drawing new insights, asking the right questions to ensure understanding of underlying needs behind data asks, form a narrative out of data, and clearly communicate your findings. You will lead complex end-to-end projects, align stakeholders, manage risks, and set precedents. You will join a team dedicated to enabling an exceptional investment process while focusing on operational and data excellence, continuous improvement, and process optimization. You possess a high service orientation, integrity, and take ownership of your work.

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, mathematics, economics, statistics, computer science, MIS, or other quantitative field of study.

  • You have 3+ years of experience with Equity, preferably with Attribution and portfolio analysis. You’ve calculated, validated, and interpreted portfolio investment results, with attribution, benchmark, and transaction/holdings-based analysis. You have excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus on being able to confidently stand behind your analysis when presenting to the Investment Group and Distribution stakeholders.

  • You have a related charter (CIPM and/or CFA), a related MBA, or have significant and related experience in the field

  • You have strong experience with SQL, data visualization tools (Tableau, Alteryx and/or Power BI), and MS Excel Skills (functions, charting, and pivot tables). You’ve drawn insight and developed creative and compelling exhibits. You have some experience with related systems such as FactSet Portfolio Analysis, Bloomberg, Morningstar Direct, and/or B-One.

  • You have experience with data modeling and data manipulation skills. You have partnered with engineers on developing end-to-end technical requirements.

  • You enjoy working in an environment where collaboration, critical thinking, excellent problem-solving skills, and curiosity are essential for success.

  • You support your team with a keen focus on developing best practices, increasing efficiency, enhancing capabilities, and mitigating risk.  

  • You raise your hand when you see a problem or have a question. Your colleagues turn to you for sound recommendations based on facts.

Orange County Base Salary Range: $108,756-$174,010

Los Angeles Base Salary Range: $115,254-$184,406

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
