In this role, you’ll help keep our people processes and HR systems running smoothly, making sure we’re set up to attract, support, and retain great talent. You’ll be responsible for managing our people data and HR systems—keeping everything accurate, organized, and working efficiently. From onboarding to offboarding, you’ll play a key role in creating a seamless and positive experience for our employees at every stage of their journey.

Review data within the HRIS system for accuracy, updating as needed to ensure the system reflects correct data in real-time.
  • Systems Implementations & Integrations: Collaborate with IT and external vendors to implement new HR tech tools and integrate with existing systems. Create file transfers with external third parties.

  • Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate current systems and workflows to identify inefficiencies. Recommend and implement improvements, consolidations, or new tools to enhance the employee and People Team experience.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Management: Create and maintain documentation for HR systems, processes, and workflows. Coordinate knowledge management, including assisting with the maintenance of the overall People Team Notion page and the ADP home page, plus developing content related to compensation, people systems, and payroll in both places.
  • Compensation Tool Management: Manage our compensation platform (Pave), including data maintenance, pay band updates, and support for quarterly and annual compensation planning. Help develop a plan to communicate tool capabilities to new hires.
  • Process Improvement: Analyze and evaluate current systems and processes and make recommendations for improvement or consolidation, considering the implementation and integration of other platforms.
  • HR Technology Trends: Stay current on trends in HR systems and technologies. Proactively identify new tools or features that can improve workflows, data quality, or employee experience.

What You Should Have:

  • 5-8 years of experience in HRIS/people systems, including system configuration, maintenance, and reporting, ideally in a growing SaaS or tech company
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and/or Google sheets skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas)
  • Experience or familiarity with ADP, Pave, Lever and/or Culture Amp
  • Knowledge of system security best practices, compliance requirements, and data integrity standards
  • Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to lead or support cross-functional projects, manage timelines, and meet deadlines
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills; able to partner across teams effectively
  • Proactive and goal-oriented with a track record of driving projects independently
  • Confident navigating ambiguity and influencing without authority

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
