We’re looking for a people-focused Recruiting & People Coordinator to support our growing team. In this role, you’ll be one of the first touch points for candidates, setting the tone for their experience with us. You’ll partner closely with recruiters, hiring managers, and the People team to make sure every interaction feels smooth, thoughtful, and delightful. From scheduling interviews and keeping candidates in the loop, to supporting onboarding and HR processes, you’ll be at the heart of keeping our people operations running seamlessly. If you have a service-oriented mentality, thrive on organization, and genuinely enjoy connecting with people—you’ll fit right in.

What you'll do
  • Coordinate the end-to-end interview process, including scheduling, candidate communications, and logistics
  • Be a friendly, professional, and reliable point of contact for candidates, ensuring they feel supported every step of the way
  • Maintain accurate records in HR systems and applicant tracking tools
  • Help new hires feel welcome by supporting onboarding and managing the onboarding calendar
  • Complete employee verifications and maintain employee files
Background we're looking for
  • 1–3 years of experience in recruiting coordination, HR, or a related administrative role
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Discretion in handling confidential information
Experience we’d be particularly excited about
  • Prior experience with Greenhouse and Rippling
  • A people-first mindset and genuine interest in creating positive experiences for candidates and employees
What to expect

We interview rigorously based on integrity, talent, and drive; the trust we display in our teammates from day 1 is a reflection of the confidence we have in this process. We aim to evaluate the things you’ll be doing every day as best we can, and we move quickly. Here's what to expect:

  • 20 minute phone screen to talk through your background and interest in Thatch
  • 30 minute Zoom meeting with the hiring manager to dive deeper into your experience and the role
  • 30 minute Zoom meeting to meet 2-3 members of the team
  • 30 minute Zoom meeting with our founders to discuss your approach to culture and our operating principles

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
