We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive People & Process Generalist to join our People & Culture team. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in supporting the employee lifecycle by owning the documentation process, managing contingent labor and PEO platforms, and helping us maintain a smooth and efficient operation behind the scenes.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about people operations, enjoys finding and testing solutions to improve how things are done, likes managing and organizing data, and is eager to grow their HR skills and knowledge in a collaborative and agile environment.

 Key Responsibilities:

Employee Lifecycle Documentation and Data Management

  • Draft and issue employee lifecycle documents, including offer letters, promotion letters, annual salary review letters and offboarding documentation.
  • Ensure all documentation and templates are up to date, compliant with internal policies, and aligned with local employment standards.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee data and records across all HR systems, files, and platforms, and support system transitions or data audits as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Payroll, Legal, IT) to ensure information and documentation is accurately captured across all relevant systems.
  • Identify and implement improvements to documentation and data management processes as needed.
  • Assist with employee and manager inquiries related to documentation and records, when applicable.

Recruitment Support

  • Coordinate and schedule candidate interviews.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the recruiting inbox.
  • Own and manage the background check process.
  • Identify and implement improvements to streamline and operationalize recruitment operational workflows.
  • Create a positive experience for candidates and hiring leaders alike.

Onboarding Coordination

  • Prepare new hire checklists and schedule onboarding sessions.
  • Own logistics (system access, welcome emails, kits, documentation tracking).
  • Collect and process onboarding feedback from new hires.

Offboarding Support

  • Coordinate and conduct exit interviews; synthesize feedback and identify trends for continuous improvement.
  • Manage offboarding processes in collaboration with IT, Payroll, and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth employee experience and alignment with local labor standards

Contingent Labor & PEO Administration

  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with regional employment requirements.
  • Support the onboarding and ongoing management of contractors in the Deel platform and Techstars global employees through our Professional Employer Organization (PEO) partner.
  • Manage the Deel platform, such as creating and terminating contracts, processing invoice payments, and other related administrative tasks.

Vendor & Tool Administration

  • Be the point of contact for lower-tier vendors (e.g., background checks, swag, engagement tools).
  • Maintain records of contracts, renewal dates, and contacts.
  • Monitor usage and support renewals or onboarding of new tools.

General People Ops Support

  • Provide administrative support across the People team as needed.
  • Help drive operational excellence by identifying small ways to improve efficiency and clarity in our processes.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • 1–3 years of experience in People Operations, Project Management, or a related administrative role.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a knack for documentation.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience with (or willingness to learn) HRIS and PEO platforms.
  • Experience with Greenhouse, Deel, Remote, UKG and/ot similar technologies preferred.
  • Clear communication and confidentiality when handling sensitive employee data.
  • Ability and willingness to leverage technology and AI-based solutions to simplify tasks and improve processes.
  • Familiarity with tools like [e.g., Deel, HiBob, Lattice, Notion, Google Workspace].
  • Experience working within an Agile methodology or fast-paced, iterative environments is a plus.

Compensation: $60,000 - $70,000 with 10% bonus

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
