Evio Overview

Evio is a highly unique pharmacy solutions company that was founded by and works closely with health plans to implement transformative (to cost, quality, access and experience) initiatives primarily focused on specialty and other high-cost medication solutions.

In 2020, a group of five amazing Blue Cross Blue Shield health plans that in total serve more than 20 million members recognized that the way medications get to patients needs significant reform—rapidly rising costs and massive system complexities are detrimental to patients and the entire industry. In 2025, Wellmark joined as Evio's first non-founding investor and sixth owner health plan. Each company made, and continues to make, significant investments to establish Evio as an independent entity to lead this transformation.

Evio has advanced analytics and contracting capabilities at scale, and a suite of digital tools, to power our high-cost medication solutions. Our solutions act as a self-reinforcing “flywheel” where each element strengthens and feeds into the next, and support an “Only Evio can do that,” mindset and prioritization.

Evio is also a company that has invested heavily in and been highly intentional about people, team and culture. We believe we have created a very special place to work and encourage candidates to observe and ask us about our culture and decide for themselves.

Evio's Values

  • Empathy – The people our business serves always come first. We care for our teammates and put ourselves in the shoes of our health plan customers and the patients and clinicians our solutions benefit.
  • Diversity – We are committed to fostering a culture where everyone belongs and is valued for their background, experience and insights – one that encourages diversity of ideas, and is a nurturing, trusting, and accepting place for all.
  • Adventure – We are flexible, thrive in ambiguity, fail fast, and pivot quickly to get to a better answer. We celebrate wins and pivots with equal intensity.
  • Relentless – Guided by evidence and data, we are creative, curious, and unwavering in our pursuit of challenging the status quo and each other.
  • Transparency – Just as we seek to bring transparency to the pharmacy supply chain, authenticity and integrity are core to the way we communicate.
  • Excellence – We strive to raise the bar in all we do by hiring and developing exceptional talent and holding ourselves and our thinking to the highest standard.

About the role

As People Operations Manager, you'll execute the operational foundation of the teammate experience at Evio. Reporting to the Head of Evio Experience, you'll help ensure every stage of the teammate experience is thoughtful, well-executed, and compliant. Evio is a growing company with increasing teammate support needs. This is a hands-on role where you'll serve as Evio's subject matter expert on benefits, administer people operations, manage our people systems and vendor relationships, and ensure teammates receive timely, knowledgeable support throughout their time at Evio.

We're looking for someone with a service-oriented mindset who takes pride in delivering an exceptional teammate experience through operational excellence, responsiveness, and continuous improvement. Success in this role means teammates know they can count on you for accurate answers, thoughtful support, and reliable execution, while managers trust you to keep logistics running smoothly behind the scenes.

What you'll do

Administer benefits and support teammates

  • Administer Evio's benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), disability, COBRA, and other benefit offerings.
  • Become Evio's internal expert on benefit programs, providing timely, knowledgeable support to teammates and helping them navigate questions and life events.
  • Resolve benefit issues by partnering closely with teammates, brokers, carriers, and vendors.
  • Administer leaves of absence and workplace accommodations.
  • Manage relationships with benefits brokers, vendors, and other external partners.
  • Recommend improvements to benefits and people policies based on teammate feedback, operational insights, and evolving business needs.

Own people systems and operational excellence

  • Own the day-to-day administration of people systems, including Justworks and future people technology platforms.
  • Ensure people systems, teammate records, workflows, and documentation remain accurate, organized, and up to date.
  • Document, maintain, and continuously improve people processes to support consistency and scale.
  • Maintain SOC-related people operations controls and documentation.
  • Identify practical opportunities to simplify, automate, and improve operational processes.

Support policies and compliance

  • Help maintain the teammate handbook and people policies.
  • Ensure required employment notices and documentation remain current.
  • Partner with Legal and the Head of Evio Experience to support employment law compliance.
  • Maintain documentation standards and consistent employment practices.
  • Help ensure leave, accommodation, and employment practices are administered consistently and compliantly.

Coordinate onboarding and offboarding

  • Execute the operational aspects of the teammate journey from pre-boarding through offboarding.
  • Coordinate pre-boarding logistics to ensure new teammates have a seamless start.
  • Manage offboarding processes, documentation, and logistics.
  • Administer company calendars, and recurring people operations processes.

Your skills and experience

  • 5+ years of experience in people operations, human resources, teammate experience, benefits administration, HR compliance, or a closely related operational role. We welcome candidates whose experience may come from a variety of backgrounds, provided they've demonstrated ownership of core people responsibilities such as benefits administration, people systems, HR compliance, and supporting the teammate lifecycle in a growing organization.
  • Strong experience administering employee benefits and supporting teammates through benefit questions, life events, and leave administration.
  • Experience managing people systems and maintaining accurate teammate records and workflows.
  • Experience managing relationships with external vendors, brokers, and service providers.
  • Working knowledge of human resources practices, employment law, HR compliance, accommodations, documentation standards, and leave administration.
  • Experience documenting and improving operational processes in a growing organization.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to explain complex information clearly and compassionately.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion, sound judgment, and professionalism.
  • A service-oriented mindset with a genuine desire to support teammates and help create a company and culture we're all proud to be part of.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
