Backed by some of the world’s leading venture capital firms, we’re on an ambitious mission to simplify and modernize every function of the dental practice through technology. As we expand our reach globally, Dandy is building the operating system for dental offices around the world—empowering clinicians and their teams with technology, innovation, and world-class support to achieve more for their practices, their people, and their patients.

About the Role

Dandy is hiring a People Operations Analyst to lead core people processes and support the smooth operation of our NYC office. In this role, ~75% of your time will focus on driving key People Operations workflows—onboarding, offboarding, employee lifecycle support, and HR systems management—and ~25% will support the upkeep and coordination of our physical workspace. You’ll be essential to ensuring our employees have a seamless experience from day one.

Note: This role is on-site in our Manhattan FiDi office from Monday through Thursday.

What You'll Do

People Operations:

  • Own end-to-end onboarding and offboarding workflows, including equipment, system access, compliance docs, and new hire merchandise.

  • Manage the JIRA ticketing system to intake, triage, and resolve People Ops requests.

  • Support employee lifecycle processes (transfers, exits, status changes) in HR systems (e.g., UKG).

  • Facilitate onboarding programming and new hire orientation content.

  • Partner with IT, Talent, and managers to deliver an excellent new hire experience.

  • Manage logistics for new hire swag and onboarding kits.

  • Identify opportunities to improve and streamline people workflows, proposing scalable solutions

Office Operations:

  • Coordinate daily office needs: vendor management, supply ordering, space upkeep, and light facilities tasks.

  • Collaborate with IT on employee equipment logistics.

  • Be an on-site point of contact for workplace questions or needs.

What We're Looking For

  • 1–3 years in people operations, onboarding, HR coordination, or similar—ideally in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.

  • Experience managing ticketing systems (e.g., JIRA) and supporting employee lifecycle events.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; can independently prioritize and execute.

  • Tech fluency across tools like Google Workspace, HRIS platforms, JIRA, etc.

  • Comfortable working in Excel or Google Sheets to organize information and track workflows.

  • Comfortable presenting to groups (e.g., onboarding).

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and with employees at all levels

  • Proactive and process-minded—you spot inefficiencies and enjoy proposing better ways of working

  • Able to lift up to 30 lbs and support light physical office needs.

Bonus Points For

  • Experience designing onboarding programming.

  • Familiarity with UKG, Ashby, or similar tools.

  • Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills, including experience with formulas, pivot tables, data cleaning, and organizing operational workflows.

  • Positive energy and a sense of humor.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
