Summary of Role:
The People Business Partner, Client Services, is a dynamic, hands-on leader who will serve as a partner with department leadership, aligning people and department goals. Reporting to the Director, People, the role works collaboratively with our Client Services Departments (Advisory, Audit and Tax) leadership teams and the People team to execute and achieve goals. They are the go-to for People matters, keeping the Department Head and Director, People informed.
You will be responsible for:
- Employee Relations and Compliance
- Handle all employee relations issues raised in the department, escalating to the Department Head and Director, People as needed.
- Investigate and resolve employee concerns in a fair and timely manner.
- Act as an advisor to the Department Head with respect to personnel matters.
- Performance Management and Learning and Development
- Support the department performance evaluation cycles, working with Learning and Performance to identify opportunities for process improvement and ensure department compliance.
- Coordinate with firm and department Learning and Development teams to ensure a positive development environment for learners at all levels.
- Coach leaders on effective feedback and career development strategies.
- Talent Management and Employee Engagement
- Work with the Department Head and Director, People on department workforce planning and succession plans, helping identify key talent and talent gaps, execute talent management programs and develop management and leadership capabilities.
- Support employee engagement within the departments, using best practices seen across the Firm to foster a positive and inclusive work culture.
- Coordinate with department onboarding lead to ensure seamless integration of new hires, including support with Career Advisor pairings and new hire buddies.
- In some situations, coordinate with resource management to align department client service needs with professional development opportunities.
- Strategic People Partnership
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders, providing insights and recommendations on people related matters that affect the department’s overall performance.
- Be an active participant on the leadership teams as well as the People team, where it needed.
- Provide content relating to people issues for the department meetings, leadership team meetings, and weekly department communications.

What skills & experience you’ll bring to us:
- 7+ years of HR experience, preferably in professional services and/or accounting firms
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices and compliance requirements
- Experience with HRIS systems and data-driven decision making
- Excellent verbal and written skills to effectively communicate with employees and leaders at all levels of the organization
- Problem solving skills with the ability to make recommendations through judgment that is consistent with company standards, practices, policies, or local governing laws
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion

Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, ranges, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications (e.g. JD, technology), for example. At GHJ, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is: $135,000 - $175,000.
