Position Overview

We are looking for a strategically minded, systematic, and collaborative leader for a unique opportunity supporting the Platform Business Excellence (PBE) leadership team in the Platform Services and Emerging Technologies (PSET) organization. As the PBE Operations Manager will drive operational excellence and foster a collaborative environment, empowering the PBE team to achieve strategic goals and contribute to Autodesk's growth and success.

You will act as a strategic advisor and operational powerhouse to streamline the PBE’s operations. PBE is the center of excellence for XD, Analytics and Insights, Technical Program and Portfolio management, M&A integration, and Vendor Management. As a group, PBE is more than the sum of its parts. By managing our operating model and refining our measures of success, you will help grow our brand as a team as a key player to bring Autodesk’s strategic vision to life.

As the ideal candidate you will have a track record in product operations, enjoy working effectively in complex, technology-focused organizations, and a personal brand of making everyone around you better.

This position offers flexibility, allowing for on-site, hybrid, or remote work in the west coast of the United States or Canada, with up to 40% travel to office locations and Autodesk-sponsored events.

Responsibilities

  • Operational excellence: Manage the PBE leadership team operating model, ensuring that the team has the appropriate objectives, and the right structures, accountabilities, and cadences to support them. Work with cross functional partners (HR, Finance, Legal) to ensure consistent dialogue, issue resolution and business program implementation

  • Executive Partnership: Serve as a trusted partner to the Sr. Director and act as a proxy where appropriate. Understand complex issues and recommend solutions while maintaining objectivity. Provide insightful analysis and representation in key discussions.

  • Employee Engagement: Champion employee engagement for the PBE team. Ensure measurable engagement goals are developed and that they support our objectives. Expand this engagement to other teams across Autodesk so they understand the purpose of PBE and the value of engaging with us

  • Meetings & Workshops: Plan and facilitate effective team and cross-org meetings, workshops, and off-sites. Formulate topics, build agendas, guide discussions, synthesize diverse perspective into cohesive strategies and actions, and follow up as appropriate

  • Initiative Leadership: Lead PBE team initiatives and goals that span PBE and/or PSET. Synthesize actionable plans, drive change management, track progress and milestones. Initiatives range from hiring sprints, decision-making tools and practices, to the establishing a platform product operating model

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in product operations, technical program management, or management consulting within a high-tech environment

  • Proven success in leading complex, cross-functional projects and initiatives.

  • Strong team building and facilitation skills, with the ability to drive to committed decisions

  • Excellent operational and flexible mindset to adapt to and create structure in changing circumstances and priorities

  • Action-oriented with strong influencing and decision-driving skills

  • Effective communicator to both developer and executive audience.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
