Job Description

Job Title: - Payroll Tax Analyst (508026)

Location: - Pleasanton, CA (94588)

Duration: - 3 Month

Possible temp to perm, for the right fit. The internal Clorox team is sourcing for a perm placement in sync with this role.

Primary Purpose of Position: (Summary Statement)

Performs a variety of functions of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Successful candidate will use skills of an experienced Payroll Tax professional with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures; resolve a wide range of issues in an innovative and practical way as it relates to payroll taxes, i.e., federal, state, local and other tax liabilities. Works with approximately 17 FEINS and 22 states.

Key Responsibilities

· Prepare all payroll tax funding – daily, weekly, quarterly, semiannual and annual

· Prepares GL account reconciliations

Quarterly Tax Reconciliation(s):

Verify Federal and State wages and taxes from the tax summary (TAX010) and balance to the quarter balancing report from ADP Tax Services prior to quarter end closing. Correct any variances by notifying payroll processors and/or ADP Tax Services. This process to begin once ADP Enterprise Group is notified by Payroll Tax Analyst to submit TAX812 to ADP Tax Services, typical 15 days prior to quarter close

Verify Federal and State wages and taxes from the tax summary (TAX010), balance to the final quarter balancing report from ADP Tax Services, identify and correct any discrepancies prior to next quarter close and submit to Supervisor for approval

Reconcile Statement of Deposits against signed/approved Quarter Balancing Versions Report from ADP Tax Services and inform Supervisor and ADP Tax Services immediately regarding any discrepancies

Process and submit Annual Reporting Error Listing (TAX900) to HROPS Supervisor for corrections and resolutions

Record and track tax refunds via established tax receivables process

Research tax issues and/or questions immediately to ensure speedy resolution

Manually complete and submit tax returns not processed by payroll vendor accurately and timely

Daily Tax Reconciliation(s):

Process TAX001 on a daily basis and verify dollars against ADP Tax Services Web site

Ensure differences are reconciled that day prior to funding

Prepare funding wire based on TAX001 and ADP Tax Service website

Accurately prepare funding wires for all payroll runid’s once reconciled against payroll summary reports (PAY018)

Reporting

Prepares several monthly reports needed by Finance and third party administrators with information on: relocation, promissory notes, GIFT campaign, compliance reports

Perform semiannual escheatment process and coordinate transfer of funds with Accounts Payable

Forms:

Complete multiple worksite location and industry verification forms as received for the various states

Complete EDD “Benefit Audit” forms to ensure employees have not been overpaid for Unemployment

Complete form DE340 and submit new hire file to EDD office weekly

Manually complete and submit tax returns not processed by payroll vendor accurately and timely

Requirements:

Minimum Years and Type of Experience Required:

Payroll tax and accounting experience required

Typically requires a minimum of five years of related experience.

Required Skills and Abilities:

Strong planning, organizing, and adaptation skills

Detail oriented and excellent data review, documentation and processing skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Strong working knowledge of PC applications (Microsoft Office (advanced Excel skills are a requirement), ADP Reportsmith and knowledge of ADP Enterprise Payroll preferred)

Minimum Education Level/ Degree:

· High school diploma required; bachelor's degree in accounting or business preferred
