We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to join our team. In this key role, you will report directly to the Payroll Manager and be responsible for managing the organization’s payroll and employee benefits functions. This includes ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll, maintaining full compliance with regulatory requirements, and administering a range of employee benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, and leave programs.
This position involves close collaboration with both domestic and international payroll service providers, as well as providing critical support to the Finance and Human Resources teams on all payroll-related matters. As a Payroll Admin, you will support the end-to-end payroll process while ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely delivery across domestic and international operations. Your responsibilities will include:
Payroll Processing & Operations:
Process weekly payroll for 500+ non-exempt employees across multiple U.S. states
Upload bi-weekly commission payment reports to global payroll providers
Coordinate with international payroll teams to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing
Interface with domestic and global payroll service providers to ensure smooth operations
Maintain and update payroll deductions, deferrals, and withholdings for all U.S. employees
Compliance & Reporting:
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations
Manage year-end reporting, including W-2s, ACA filings, 1099s, and other statutory documents
Participate in internal and external payroll and benefits audits
Collaboration & Support:
Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate payroll journal entries and reconciliations
Respond to employee inquiries and requests related to payroll in a timely and professional manner
Support ad-hoc projects, reporting needs, account reconciliations, and other initiatives as required by the Finance and HR teams
Process Improvement & Systems:
Generate, automate, and maintain regular payroll and management reports
Continuously assess payroll processes to identify and implement efficiency improvements
Contribute to payroll system projects, enhancements, and upgrades
Ensure payroll data remains synchronized with HR records and systems
1-3 years of experience managing payroll systems required
Bachelor’s degree in related field
Experience working with basic accounting and bookkeeping procedures
Basic understanding of payroll tax laws and compliance requirements.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
Self-starter who adapts well to change in a fast-pace, dynamic workplace
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Effective communication skills with the ability to respond professionally to employee inquiries.
Proactive and self-motivated, with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Familiarity with payroll and accounting systems such as Ultimate Kronos Group (UKG), Deel, Sage Intacct, and FloQast
FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification) or other relevant payroll certifications are a strong plus
Experience working in a fast-paced, global environment with cross-functional teams
This is a hybrid position, and employees are expected to come into our Playa Vista, CA office every Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday
