Payroll Accounting Manager 

We are seeking a detail-oriented, experienced Payroll Accounting Manager to lead and manage our global payroll accounting functions. This role is primarily responsible for the accurate recording, reconciliation, and financial reporting of payroll across Global legal entities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll accounting close processes across all geographies: including journal entries, accrue and account reconciliation for global payroll accounts 
  • Perform monthly benefit reconciliation, deduction vs vendor charges
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly KPI and variances related to all payroll areas such as: FTE reports, benefits burden rate, functional people cost etc.
  • Reconcile payroll register to GL, employee departments to ensure accurate expense reporting
  • Reconcile downstream systems to ensure employees with the right departments and locations
  • Manage payroll accounting for employee stock-based compensation including RSUs, stock options, and ESPP, ensure proper classification in the financial statements.
  • Partner with global payroll vendors and local HR teams to ensure compliance and accuracy
  • Work with the intercompany team on any payroll-related charges backs
  • Coordinate with legal, HR, and external advisors on equity tax treatment and reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to enhance payroll and accounting systems and workflows.
  • Assist with the implementation of new HRIS, payroll systems  
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities in payroll accounting processes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of payroll accounting experience, including 2+ years managing international payroll accounting
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS a plus, and familiarity with multi-jurisdictional payroll tax rules.
  • Experience with accounting for stock-based compensation and related payroll reporting.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Workday) and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $120,000-$150,000. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
