About VAST Data

VAST Data is transforming enterprise storage and data management for the age of AI — delivering a unified platform that eliminates traditional silos and empowers customers to scale data and analytics across the cloud. Our mission is to help organizations unlock the full potential of their data. As part of the Technology Alliance organization, the Partner Solution Architect will be instrumental in building deep technical partnerships with ISVs and driving joint solutions that accelerate customer success and adoption.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and technically savvy Partner Solution Architect to serve as a technical leader within our partner ecosystem. This role sits at the intersection of technology, go-to-market strategy, and partner engineering, with a focus on enabling Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) to integrate, build, and co-sell solutions on the VAST Data Platform. You will work closely with strategic ISVs in data, analytics, cloud, and AI markets to architect joint solutions, support technical integrations, and drive partner-led demand generation.

Key Responsibilities

Partner Technical Leadership

  • Be the technical authority and trusted advisor for strategic ISV partners, guiding them on architecture, integration, and optimization of solutions with the VAST platform.
  • Lead deep architectural discussions with partner engineers, CTOs, and product teams to shape joint solutions that solve real customer problems.
  • Influence partner and product roadmaps by surfacing customer insights and co-innovation opportunities back to VAST product and engineering teams.
  • Work cross-functionally with engineering, product, and labs teams to accelerate integrations and resolve technical issues.

Solution Architecture & Enablement

  • Enable partners to integrate and deploy their products on the VAST Data Platform.
  • Lead technical validation, ensuring compatibility, performance, and security across VAST products.
  • Serve as the primary technical resource for onboarding, joint solution development, and ongoing partner support.
  • Design, document, and evangelize reference architectures, best practices, and repeatable patterns for partner integrations (data pipelines, analytics, cloud services, AI/ML workflows).
  • Lead proof-of-concepts (POCs), sandboxes, and demos that demonstrate joint solution value to partners and customers.
  • Build technical assets — demo kits, architecture diagrams, sample code, solution briefs to accelerate partner success and enablement across the ecosystem.

Ecosystem Enablement & Collaboration

  • Train and certify partner technical teams, delivering workshops, webinars, and deep-dive sessions to elevate their capability on the VAST platform.
  • Collaborate with VAST Alliances, GTM, Product Marketing, and Sales Engineering teams to align joint value propositions, enable co-sell plays, and support field activities.
  • Represent VAST at partner summits, industry events, user groups, and conferences, showcasing joint solutions with strategic partners.

Strategic Impact

  • Identify repeatable partner use cases that accelerate adoption and drive measurable business outcomes (revenue, pipeline, customer references).
  • Advocate for partner ecosystem needs internally and help shape VAST’s partner strategy and architectural standards.
  • Contribute to partner readiness and onboarding flows to scale technical collaboration across global ecosystems.
  • 7+ years of experience in technical pre-sales, solution architecture, partner engineering, or similar roles with enterprise software, cloud, analytics, or data platforms.
  • Deep technical expertise in database and analytic platform technologies (SQL, NoSQL, data warehouses/lakes, vector databases). Hands-on experience with Spark, Trino, or other query engines
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, containers/Kubernetes, database architectures, and data platform design.
  • Experience with data engineering (tools, python, spark), AI/ML data pipelines, analytics workloads, and real-time data processing
  • Proven ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical architectures and persuasive executive-level presentations.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to influence both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Comfortable leading workshops, training sessions, and demo presentations.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
