What We're Looking For:

Sift is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Partner Onboarding and Certification Technical Writer to join our team. This role is crucial for advancing and maintaining Sift’s partner certification journey. You will work closely with our Instructional Designer to create comprehensive technical training and certification materials that clearly explain complex concepts. Your main focus will be to develop and improve our partner onboarding content and learning paths, ensuring our partners are fully equipped to succeed with Sift’s solutions.

We need someone who can translate technical information into clear, engaging, and accessible content, primarily for partners, but with the flexibility to support other audiences when needed. While autonomy is key, you will also collaborate closely with and receive ongoing guidance from the lead instructional designer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and refinement of the partner onboarding and certification journey, ensuring alignment with Sift’s standards and partner enablement goals.

  • Collaborate with Instructional Designers and subject matter experts to create, edit, and maintain partner-focused technical training documentation, manuals, and certification guides.

  • Develop engaging training and certification content, including manuals, online help, tutorials, and other instructional materials for partner audiences.

  • Ensure all partner certification documentation is accurate, clear, and consistent.

  • Incorporate feedback from partners and internal stakeholders to continuously improve content quality and effectiveness.

  • Maintain documentation standards and version control for all certification materials.

  • Assist in developing multimedia training components for partner onboarding and certification as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Technical Writing, Instructional Design, Communications, Technical Training, or Training Development.

  • Experience and proven examples of developing onboarding and certification content for partners.

  • Equivalent qualifications may include:

    • A minimum of 4 years of extensive experience in technical writing or instructional material development in lieu of a degree.

    • Professional certifications in technical writing or instructional design (e.g., STC Certified Professional Technical Communicator, ATD certifications).

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in technical writing, training development, or related roles, preferably in partner enablement or certification.

  • A technical background or familiarity with software, systems, or technical processes is preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • The ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, user-friendly language for partner audiences.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with authoring tools such as Rise 360, Camtasia, RoboHelp, Chat GPT, or similar.

  • Knowledge of e-learning platforms and tools (e.g., Articulate, Rise 360).

  • A basic understanding of industry standards like ACM, IEEE, or specific compliance requirements.

If you are passionate about creating impactful partner onboarding and certification content and thrive in a collaborative environment, we encourage you to apply.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
